Loving God His Way

When asked do you believe in God, many automatically respond ‘Yes, of course I do.’ Does your countenance reflect His love? Does your smile broadcast your love of your unseen Father? The Apostle Peter was shocked and embarrassed that Jesus repeated His question “Peter, do you love Me?” Understanding that Peter had disobeyed His previous request, Jesus once again asked Peter “Feed My sheep”. Before Jesus was to be crucified, He asked Peter to lead, to stand in the gap and encourage the flock when He returned to the Father. After denying Jesus three times, Peter failed to obey Jesus as he returned to his previous occupation as a fisherman. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 God chases after those He loves, and He is relentless until we surrender to His love, that we may love others with His overflow. Our Father’s strong affection towards us includes equal admiration for anyone who lays down their plans for His. His love is unconditional, and unselfish as He has done all He can to make Himself known to us. Each sunrise, sunset, lightning strike and thunder roll is a demonstration of His power and love. He desires a one of a kind intimacy with us. The question remains how shall we return His love? We are challenged to love God with all our heart, mind and soul, but how exactly? When we shine the Light of Jesus in this dark world, our good news, our testimony can make them smile eternally! “Above all, love each other deeply because love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8 and “God is love” John 4:8 and “Love never fails” 1 Corinthians 13:8 All Glory to God for His love is eternal. “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” John 16:13 NASB – The Holy Spirit will help us to “walk this way” and to keep His commands as He calls us to remember scripture when we need it. Our God is faithful to the end. “Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority before all time and now and forever. Amen.” Jude 1:24-25

Psalm 16:9-11 “Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because You will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let Your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.” Hallelujah ❤️ So too, unto the very end “And they overcame him (prince of the air, the Liar) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” Revelation 12:11

Because of God’s love we are graciously granted another 24 hours to return His love with our obedience to His word. How many would think to enter a lifelong relationship and marry someone without first knowing their character, hopes, values and what they hold important, or their plan for the future. Likewise, we cannot truly love God without learning about His love for us, what He values most, and how His plans would work in our lives. Our Father desires to be in a love relationship with His children. His purpose for redeeming us, was to transform us, and to equip us to live ‘in Him’. Through His righteousness, we are commissioned to raise those who are dead to God, by the word of our testimony. Can we honestly say “I would do anything for the one I love”? The scriptures are all God breathed and they testify that there is no condemnation for those that live ‘in Christ Jesus’. Our Father is faithful and His sacrifice of His son paid for all our faults, shortcomings, and sins by the innocent perfect sacrificial Lamb, the bloodshed by Jesus. Our Father’s one-on-one relationship with each child of God is unique in that He knows our every wound, doubt, reluctance to give up our ways for His. Our Father, our Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are One in the same and combined they are mysterious, yet willing to include us in their divine plan for all of us. From Genesis to Revelation our God shares how He has dealt with countless generations for their obedience and disobedience. We exercise our faith in the unseen by seeking God in all that we do as we become His willing, and obedient vessels of change in this condemned world. “Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning Me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with Me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting Me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” John 16:33 The Message also says “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it NOT by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit (works) deeply and gently within us.”

“Jesus said, “The first in importance is, ‘Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment that ranks with these.” Mark 12:29-31 The Message is clear, we are to love God with all our energy. We wisely seek His counsel and His way. Waling confidently in the Spirit, we share our testimony. As another sister-in-Christ once understood Ephesians 2:4-5 “God has literally loved the mess out of us!” The Message “It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose His temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, He embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on His own, with no help from us! Then He picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.” How are we to move forward? His way is perfect! 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV, “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships,in persecutions,in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” Strong in Him, strong in reliance upon the Holy Spirit, and strongly loving the one who says “walk this way”.

“The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.” Ephesians 5:8 The Message  The words of the Bible will wash away any old mindset as His living and active word creates in us the mind of Christ. “Be not conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” romans 12:2 Our Father is prepared to download His way into our minds and hearts. “As a man thinketh, so is he”. In fact His promise to us is “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26 – The truth is that our secret weapon is the unseen Holy Spirit who is wherever we are as His lives in us. In John 14:16 Jesus told His disciples about His plan to depart from earth. He assured them and us that He asked His Father to send another, just as powerful as He, to comfort them, to help them, and to enable them to do mighty works. jesus later refers to this Comforter as the “Spirit of Truth”. Jesus tells them about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and that He is the power of God. Acts 1:5-8 That same power of the Holy Spirit was used to raise Jesus from the dead. The Holy Spirit is unlimited and invincible! It is important for us to seek and to embrace the Holy Spirit because if a person does not have the Holy Spirit then He does not belong to God. “In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise, who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 – Jesus tells us that “My sheep know My voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.” John 10:27-28 – the Holy Spirit gives us discernment as we hear the prince of the air telling lies throughout the world. The devil knows the Word of God and as He speaks it, He also twists it to manipulate and confuse the children of God. Remember pride goes before the fall, so do not allow your pride of knowing scripture trap you. We are wise to rely on the Holy Spirit as we ask Him how to proceed and that He give us understanding. Scripture confirms God’s ways. If a so called prophet refuses correction, just walk away. they are operating in witchcraft, which is a rebellion against God. 1 Samuel 15:23. The Holy Spirit is not stagnant or unaware of anything, demon, person or lying scheme. We do not want to be lazy in our pursuit of Truth, or in our love for God. If the Holy Spirit prompts you to do something odd, trust Him – obedience is better than sacrificing our own intelligence. Like Joshua, we choose to walk in obedience to bring God glory, not ourselves.

Our Father wants to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ever ask of Him. Now is a good time to throw up your hands as you surrender all to He who is able! As we surrender our will, ways, thoughts, actions and desires to God, we become His obedient servant as we choose Him above all else. “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:14-15 Memorize this scripture. “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15 We walk in obedience, and we wisely do not search for answers from the world. Proverbs 28:9 “If anyone turns a deaf ear to My instruction, even their prayers are detestable.” Do not disguise yourself as a believer, be obedient day and night. Do not try to hide from God, our Lord knows if you believe in Jesus and your eternity depends on your honesty and obedience to His Word. We are not ashamed of Jesus, but we rejoice in our salvation. We will not bow to any idols! We ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any secret sins or idols that we may confess and be delivered and healed. We cry out for healing, comfort, and restoration with complete faith in Jesus.
