All Greek to Me

Boy, it’s all Greek to me, and it’s all good. In fact it is all very, very good. Paul wrote in ancient Greek and his audience then and now are astounded by his words. Luckily we have his words transcribed. Paul begins his letter to the Ephesians with a robust blessing from God the Father and Jesus Christ. Our responsibility is to simply receive and by God’s unwarranted grace, understand. What does all spiritual blessings mean? More than one blessing, in fact all that God has for us. Spiritual blessings are the stuff we cannot imagine, see, ask for or ever earn or purchase. We just receive.

Scripture “With every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ”. 🌺 This should be a big WOW right NOW! “This describes both the kind of blessings and the location of those blessings. These are spiritual blessings, which are far better than material blessings. These blessings are ours in the heavenly places in Christ, they are higher, better, and more secure than earthly blessings.” Commentator David Guzik

“Our thanks are due to God for all temporal blessings; they are more than we deserve. But our thanks ought to go to God in thunders of hallelujahs for spiritual blessings. A new heart is better than a new coat. To feed on Christ is better than to have the best earthly food. To be an heir of God is better than being the heir of the greatest nobleman. To have God for our portion is blessed, infinitely more blessed than to own broad acres of land. God hath blessed us with spiritual blessings. These are the rarest, the richest, the most enduring of all blessings; they are priceless in value.” CH Spurgeon ❤️ View “7” slides below

Romans 12:1-3 The Spirit of God strongly urges us that in view of God’s mercy that we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. “holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, [doubt, fear, zero hope] but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.” In other words, be humble not wise in your own eyes. Wisdom warns us not to exhibit our charm, human intellect –but to display the Life of Jesus, His love, light –so that the name of Jesus is magnified. Renewing our minds, we are once again transformed and resurrected in His power and for His glory. Understanding fully what our Father intended for us — is to walk in His might and glorious power. Greek translated in Strong’s #1411. “Be strong [endunamoo] of His might [ischus] so that you can stand against [resist] the wiles of the enemy.” Ephesians 6:10 ❤️ Dunamis means a continuous, dependable flow of divine ability or divine empowerment by the Spirit Source of power (our battery). “Being strengthened [dunamoo] with all power [dunamis] according to His glorious power [kratos] unto all patience and joyfully giving thanks to the Father.” Colossians 1:11 ❤️ As we submit and yield to God, His glorious dunamis, resurrection power — grows in us and makes us effective to do His will. Lay hands on the sick and pray with His dunamis power flowing. We get to choose to be PASSIVE, and allow the dunamis to be dormant—or we choose to resist the devil and his plan to steal God’s promises, Kill our effectiveness, and Destroy our power. We hear what the world says and we choose— to NOT submit to the diagnosis of the doctor, or what the world teaches about aging, sickness, and God.

Grace is our gift from our Father. We must open the entire package deal of ATONEMENT with delight. We must RECEIVE and VALUE His mercy, forgiveness, joy, healing and adoption. When we are restless, or wrestling in this life, it is wise to pause, be still and humbly open our hearts and minds to believe and receive all the spiritual blessings. Paul wrote his letters in ancient Greek so the words he used, should astound us just as they did his audience. “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” ❤️ AT-ONE-MENT with GOD – PEACE.

  2. “In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” The Greek word for wisdom in this Scripture is Sophia, which is the knowledge of how to regulate one’s relationship with God. The word knowledge in this same verse is gnosis, which in this context means to “to know experientially” In other words, not knowledge gained through education or participation. Gnosis is an intuitive knowledge that is in the present. To know someone was to have deep intimacy with that person. Know in Greek is Ginosko, so to know God is to be intimate with Jesus so that He can impart via the Holy Spirit words of knowledge that comes from the mind of God. “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God” Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven. “ Matthew 16:16-17 ❤️
