Over Thinkers

Reading the mind of others is impossible. Humans become anxious about what they can not figure out. “For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind—by wicked works (delusions, wild imaginations), yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you Holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight — if indeed you continue in the FAITH, grounded and steadfast, and are NOT moved away from the HOPE of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven.” Colossians 1:19-23 NKJV

Look for the good and find it

Anxiety is hard to have, and it is also hard to know how to respond to it. It does not dissolve with more thinking. God gave us a prayer for it. “Peace and Grace to you from Jesus, our Healer.” Hebrews 2:10-15 “In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for Whom and through Whom everything exists, should make the Pioneer of their salvation perfect through what He suffered. Both the One who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and FREE those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.” We do not fear death and we choose to fear only God and what He knows to be true of us, and love us anyway.

People who suffer with anxiety exhibit it differently. In a social setting they may become silent, or interrupt with chatter to change focus. It’s hard to live in harmony when someone is anxious that you might be mad, or disapproving of an expressed opinion. Quietly they choose to rehearse if they said something offensive. Being with someone who is anxious makes us feel a certain pressure, a nudge from within to be extra kind, to issue more grace, and that is the very best response. Perhaps gently ask “Is there anything troubling you that we could pray about?”

Humanity embraces Jesus as we shine His light of love towards those who walk in anxiety, confusion, uncertainty and doubt about whether God loves them. If a friend is anxious about anything, do not take their silence personally. They may ghost you for a bit, but continue to continue extend your friendship. Our world is broken and many suffer great anxiety because of old wounds inflicted years ago. Our Father says “Be anxious for nothing, but in all things pray and give thanks.” Anxiety is hard all around. It’s hard to figure out, but God…gave us a Comforter, the Holy Spirit to ask. It is wise for all to Listen Carefully

The best news is that our Father reconciled all things to Himself. Our kinsman Redeemer Jesus Christ, qualified us to be a partaker of His riches in glory, to share in an eternal inheritance. Colossians 1:19-23 encourage us to continue in the faith and not be moved away from the HOPE within the gospel. The Godhead and His qualities of Deity are His Self-existence, His infinity, His eternity, His holiness, His love, mercy, truthfulness, faithfulness, goodness, patience, and His justice for all. We call to mind, think over, and dwell on the Word of God in order to apply it to ourselves. This conscious holy thought process clear’s one’s mental and spiritual vision of God as it ever humbles us as we contemplate His greatness, and His plan to use us. As our knowledge of God increases, our peace, strength and joy also increases as we draw closer to our Creator, our King, our Father, the Holy One, Jesus.
