Humble and Holy

The word wellspring brings to mind a refreshing flow of water, however, the Hebrew meaning of the word wellspring means to dig up. To be holy as He is holy, we must humble ourselves and dig up the junk underneath the surface, we must examine our hearts so that we can repent and ask God to forgive us for all those times we let the sunset on our anger, bitterness or the silent treatment we chose to display. To walk in constant freedom of guilt, shame or doubt, we give ourselves a routine checkup. God’s book of wisdom teaches us. “Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly.” Proverbs 16:22 NKJV A fool’s folly is that they rejects the need of correction. What are the blocks to hearing from the Holy Spirit? Any unconfessed pride, envy, bitterness? Disobeying the Holy Spirit’s conviction to confess, to admit resentment, that you were offended and to say you are sorry. The Wellspring scripted 4 part prayer is based on James 4:7-8. In Obedience we pray to cover all 4 parts. 1) Submit 2) Resist 3) Draw near to God and respond to His conviction 4) Confess, Repent, and Listen to to what the Spirit of God says to you.

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we give You permission to examine our hearts for any buried resentment, unforgiveness, jealousy, anger, self-pity, self-condemnation or unforgiveness. As the Spirit brings to mind anything that does not represent God’s kingdom thinking, we agree today to pray through those memories with forgiveness and personal repentance. We purpose and choose to set aside this time to honor God and we ask that the Holy Spirit be in charge of our time in prayer. In the name of Jesus, we bind all evil, tormenting spirits and command them to NOT interfere. AMEN

Dear heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to forgive me for ______. Because the Father has forgiven me, out of obedience, I purpose and choose to forgive myself. In the name of Jesus, I cancel all Satan’s power and authority to torment me about this situation. Holy Spirit, please come and heal my heart and tell me Your truth. WAIT to hear from the Holy Spirit and WRITE down the WORD, the VISION, the MEMORY that He impressed upon you about the person or situation you prayed about.

A New Testament Word reminds us that the devil is out to deceive us, torment us with guilt, and to destroy our faith in God and His plans for us. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 NKJV The FOUR PART PRAYER taught through the Wellspring School of Ministry was constructed to obey this word of God spoken through James. 1) We submit to God and repent our part in a broken relationship. 2) We remove the devil’s authority to torment us with guilt and shame. 3) We accept God’s forgiveness, and out of obedience, we forgive ourselves. “But IF you do NOT forgive others their sins against you, neither will your Father forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:15 4) We ask the Holy Spirit to show us His truth in the situation. We choose to obey our Father because we love Him and trust His every word. Forgiveness is not automatic. We must confess our sins, and our Father is faithful to forgive us. 1 John 1:9 Out of obedience we choose to pray with another. “Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed.” James 5:16 KJV We are confident that the effectual prayer of a righteous man avails much, therefore we confess our guilt, shame, regret, anger, bitterness, and any memory that is stuck in pain or self-pity.

Once we have prayed over the tragic trauma of a death, a divorce, a family feud, we ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His truth in the situation. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, and He is the Healer. We wait on Him to give us a word, a vision, a dream — and for Him to restore us, to release us into His peace. We pause after each prayer and wait on Him. Write down the word, the vision, the question, the memory as an answer for the one being prayer over. There are BLOCKS to hearing from the Holy Spirit. If nothing comes and the pain persists, ask specifically. ” Dear Jesus, will You take the (pain, regret, worry, shame, bitterness) and give me Your peace?” The Holy Spirit will respond yes, or no — which reveals that there is more digging to be done. The GOAL is to WALK in FREEDOM into His glorious light.

The Holy Spirit convicts, teaches and guides us into all truth. QUESTIONS ARE GOOD. Who did Jesus address when He said “I never knew you.” Were they believers? Some explained that they had tithed and performed miracles in Jesus name — Why did Jesus say “I never knew you?” Why did some of the virgins get locked out of heaven? What did Jesus say about forgiving others? Why 70 x 7 ? Why did Jesus say “Go and sin no more.” ? Holy Spirit show me Your truth. How many times in the NT does God’s Word say repent? READ 1 John chapters 3 and 4 — “All who have this hope in Jesus purify themselves, just as He is pure. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him” Who are the children of the devil? “Anyone who does not do what is RIGHT is NOT God’s child.” We purify ourselves thru repentance. True or false? God forgives only those who forgives others. Is ongoing forgiveness necessary? Do all believers find the narrow gate? Why not? Becoming Christ like, as Jesus did, we must get alone with God and pray. To abide in Him with moral excellence, goodness, humility, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and righteousness, we must FOLLOW His example and FORGIVE quickly. The Holy Spirit equips us to endure loss, to suffer well, and to conform our will to the Father’s. Our Father invites us to question Him. Peter questioned “Where are you going?” Jesus told Peter and us that we must die to ourselves, our own understanding, our ways and follow Him and the Way. Today we, just like Peter, are challenged to be faithful in the absence of a physical Jesus.  We are to trust in “His Word” and we DO not justify ourselves, but we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.  Jesus revealed that which is beyond the flesh.  A glorious eternity in His presence.  Faith is to believe in the unseen, and to know with certainty of a promised future. Believing develops from knowing that our Father is faithful and that through the Holy Spirit we will be led into all truth. Our hope “in Him” supersedes the condition of a human doubting heart.   Before the world was, Jesus was…and while on earth He welcomed people where they were, as they were, and by His Spirit, He would complete the work He began in each one that comes to the saving knowledge of God. Be a DOER of the WORD.

We cry out for understanding, we ask for wisdom and He is faithful to show us His Way.  “In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  From the very beginning the Word was with God.  Through Him (Jesus) God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without Him.  The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to people.” John 1:1-5 NIV— Believers believed in God without ever seeing God face to face, and in Jesus, they had met the Creator of all things, God Himself. Then and today, believers are challenged to believe Jesus was God and that Jesus did not forsake anyone to fulfill the prophecy of His death.  Jesus tell us that He went to prepare a place for us and that there is room for all who believe in Him.  God dearly values us all and He is prepared to receive all unto Himself, that where Jesus is, that there they shall be also.  Jesus will receive them at the Father’s throne, where He sits in glory.  By His Word, in the Holy Scriptures the truth is – all believers are in a far more excellent position because of His death, burial and resurrection.  By surrendering all previously held beliefs, and coming in faith to Jesus as God, we are welcomed to the eternal family of God.

Is it possible for Christians to backslide? Man has conceived of thoughts that are not of God. Our Father confirms that our thoughts are not His.  Some people then, and some people now are convinced that it is impossible that Christians can be blocked out of the Book of Life. The correct view is in what God says in Revelation 3:5-6 A thought of “Once Saved, Always Saved” was introduced by a man named Calvin. The book of wisdom refutes that thought. Proverbs 14:14 “The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways.” We ask the Holy Spirit to reveal all truth to us about this issue.  The Person of the Holy Spirit will never leave those who have accepted Jesus as Lord.  His invisible presence never ceases to be alive and willing to work through all who believe.   A stream of blessing flows as the Lord declares “I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.”  The holy presence of Jesus, in the Holy Spirit, is the consolation, the comfort of His people.  The Holy Spirit is the Teacher, the Comforter, the one who guides, disciplines and convicts us when our thinking, talking and actions do not agree with or honor God and His Word.

Matthew 24:12-13 “because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”  From the modern day Message we read about the SHALLOWNESS of faith in Luke 8:11-14:  “This story is about some of those people. The seed is the Word of God. The seeds on the road are those who hear the Word, but no sooner do they hear it than the Devil snatches it from them so they won’t believe and be saved.  “The seeds in the gravel are those who hear with enthusiasm, but the enthusiasm doesn’t go very deep. It’s only another fad, and the moment there’s trouble it’s gone.  “And the seed that fell in the weeds—well, these are the ones who hear, but then the seed is crowded out and nothing comes of it as they go about their lives worrying about tomorrow, making money, and having fun.”  NOT legalism, but CHRIST defeated DEATH. Satan and his demons, and his army of lying, deceiving spirits and all his dark principalities are our defeated foes, therefore we stand victorious!

  5. Why would our Father emphasize Teaching, Rebuking, Correcting, Training in righteousness…IF we NEVER miss the target? WHY does scripture tell us to examine our hearts to see IF there is any evil in us? WHY did a few of the virgins get the door shut on their hope to get in? WHY does living Scripture command that IF we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us? WHO did Jesus say “I NEVER KNEW YOU” to? Do we get to keep on sinning and still spend eternity in heaven? IF we are once saved always saved WHY would we ever need correction? THINK ABOUT IT.
