Hockin Hosanna

What does Hosanna mean? It is a verb. It is His name, amazing Grace! Matthew 21:9 “Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around Him were shouting, ‘Praise God, hosanna for the Son of David!’ Blessings on the One who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God hosanna in highest heaven!” The name of Jesus as “Hosanna” in Scripture means Save. The Hebrew word, “hoshi’a na,” is translated in Greek as “(h)osanna.” The original intent of Scripture is “Save!” A plea for help.

Psalm 118:25 “Please Lord, please save us. Please, Lord, please give us success”. We sing Hosanna as an act of our pure surrender to His care, His will, His purpose. We rise up and thank God for redeeming us, and giving us a future filled with Hope in His promise for eternity living in His holy Presence. Only Jesus can save and we depend upon the Author of our Salvation to connect us to our Source of power.

Jesus conquered the grave, He walked out of the tomb as the King of glory. Our Lord is working in each one of us. He is mighty to save, and to crush the enemy. He has troubled and scattered the demons that had their evil plans terminated. He is shining His light through His workers and He has prepared us for the harvest for His glory. AMEN. As we pray, or sing Hosanna with intention it connects us with His purpose. We pray the Lord’s words “deliver us from evil.” The joy of our salvation is our HOPE in HIM. Hosanna in the highest!

We sing “Change my heart, oh God, make it ever true, may I be like You. You are the Potter, I am the clay, mold me and make me, this is what I pray.” Our Creator designed us with a heart for deep connection in our worship. “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.” Psalm 18:26 AMEN ❤️ He gave us His all and then gifted us faith to believe that He goes before us, He dwells within us, He equips us, and He never abandons us.

He called me by name

As a child, Kathy Hockin was called, and she gladly responded, “Yes Lord, here I am use me.” Her parents Alan and Myrtle met, married, and settled in Montrose, Colorado. Kathy wisely informs that the deceiver of mankind masquerades as beautiful and good. As the highest point in the United States of America, Colorado has been a land under seige. The first abortion clinics were opened in Colorado, and in these last days, it was the first state to welcome mutilation clinics for the gender confused.

Kathy was born in Colorado on June 14, 1947. She chose to remain even though her personal storms have been fierce. She was raised in a home of believers, but her faith grew beyond her Catholic and Lutheran parents. Today, she claims her position in the kingdom as “a child of God.” and looks to Him for His will and guidance.

Kathy was very close to her  humble dad. Alan was generous in their hometown.  Her mother, Myrtle, came from a family of professionals who all held firm opinions. As God knit her together in her mother’s womb with a grand plan, her purposed breeding motivated her to serve. She is a registered nurse with a degree in pharmacy.  She has worked as an EMT, and also led a local 4H Club for 27 years. Kathy birthed 4 children and adopted two. She has also buried two husbands, and two children. She maintains her steadfast trust and belief in God. “When life gets tough, and it does for everyone, that is when you praise God.” Obedient to His Word, Kathy knows that her heavenly Father inhabits her praises. She trusts that He is ever with her, and therefore, she remains fearless! As a master gardner, Kathy contends, “When you are on your knees pulling weeds, it’s a good time to talk to God.” Kathy stands and lives in victory! She raised kids and delighted in all the laughter and laundry. She has beaten cancer twice and states “I don’t ever remember not believing in God.” Unafraid, she traveled to Mexico in 2024 to get directions from the Boss on His next move for her. She attends Cowboy Fellowship in Colorado and shines His light wherever she goes.
