Home Sweet Home

Whoever you admire the most, just imagine receiving an invitation into their fabulous home. As you walk in you feel their warmth and notice that a meal was prepared for you.

Perhaps there is a fire, a lit candle, or a fresh breeze coming through an open window. For a brief moment you are left alone inside a comfortable room. Your heart bursts with gratitude as you hear your Host stirring nearby.

You hear a faint voice in the background “welcome, I’m so glad you are here.” Suddenly you are filled with an overwhelming brilliance and a soothing flow of peace. In awe, Jesus graciously welcomes you into His unsurpassed delight. “Please stay as long as you need. My calendar is dedicated to you My friend.” You feel blessed.

What a privilege it is to “Be still and know” that you have an open invitation from God to join Him. He is ever in your midst, ready to feed you with a meal that satisfies your deepest need. You are astounded by His lavish love and gentle way. He reminds you to come frequently and that you have direct access at anytime. Regardless if you are out in the wilderness or at home, He begs “just come as you are!”

Find a quiet spot and take His Word with you. Be still and invite God to join you wherever you are. Wait on Him, and know that He sees you, He loves you and He is glad that you accepted His invitation. No need to tidy up, make excuses or any adjustments. He is pleased that you showed up. Broken, angry or joyful, He has a perfect Word to deliver into your spirit.

Jesus calls us His friends and as our Friend, we can expect His full attention. Jesus has already done all that He came to do on the cross. He assures us “I will never leave you.” He said “It is finished.” We are at ease in His presence because His mercies and favor are fresh every day. All relationships build during ordinary times spent together. Appreciate His open invitation, His daily provision, protection and love. Our Father is ever at work in us even when we are distant, tuned out, or too busy for Him. He renews our minds, heals our bodies, and sanctifies us even as we sleep. Enter into His presence with a joy and a fresh expectancy. Our Father loves to listen and respond by giving wisdom. He does not expect perfection, only our affection. Our best Friend Jesus — is worthy of all our honor and praise.

On a few occasions, I have been personally stilled by a word and felt His mighty holy presence. “Do you not know that your body is the temple (the sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit— Who lives within you — Whom you received as a Gift from God?” 1 Corin 6:19 — Those peak intimate times with God are cherished. Take time to be still like a caterpillar and be transformed. By His amazing GRACE how SWEET it is to be His beloved ❤️ kid.
