Our Blackstone Griddle arrived in July 2023. We did our homework before we fired up the new BARBIE The proper seasoning takes over hour, so for a new griddle, we need a large full butane container. VERY IMPORTANT to NOT use bacon or animal fat to season the griddle because cracking will occur. Learning is made easy via YouTube pros. Their Tips and Tricks are critically important. I will definetely be cleaning as I griddle as suggested by the GRIDDLE basics tube below.

The 17 inch Blackstone is all we need. It is portable so people can take to the beach or camping, which we personally never would do. However, we enjoy hosting small gatherings at our casa. With 17 inches of flat cooking space we hope to make bacon and eggs, a stir fry, etc. Will continue to BBQ the steaks on our other gas grill. The tube below is great for beginners. SPECIAL ORDERED from Blackstone the assembly to attach a large cylinder of butane. The specified, authorized hose did not fit the MEXICAN butane container. Locally purchased a HOSE which fits the assembly. August 12, 2023 FIRST TRY to turn in on. Dialed the KNOB to the LEFT, no clicking sound, and I could smell gas, could see ZERO flame. Reading the instruction MANUAL, WARNING, DO NOT USE unauthorized fittings, could explode. If you smell gas: 1. Shut off gas to the appliance. 2. Extinguish any open flame. 3. Open lid 4. If odor continues, keep away from the appliance and immediately call your fire department. Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire or explosion which could cause property damage, personal injury or death. SAFETY: Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air flow. • Keep the ventilation opening of the cylinder enclosure free and clear from debris. • Visually check burner flames. ZERO FLAME? Turn OFF and wait 5 minutes. START: Push in, turn LEFT, spark, flame, season, then GRILL! Important: Check valve, first push in knob and release, knob should spring back. If knob does not spring back, replace valve assembly before using the 17” Griddle. Turn knob to low position then turn back to OFF position. Valve should turn smoothly. CHECK FLAME prior to EACH USE. STORE griddle in dry location with ventilation. PARTS LIST: Griddle Top • (4) Adjustable Height Feet • Temperature Knob • Oil Drip Tray – MAIN BODY – REGULATOR. AFTER seasoning the grill the first time, this guy uses a squirt bottle of water to loosen the residue and scrap to backside catch all. Our griddle tools were ordered at the same time as the Blackstone Griddle on AMAZON.

All marinades or sauces have sugar that burns off and makes a sticky mess on the lat top. WATCH this video a few times. Practice on the griddle before inviting company over is WISE.
