As children of God, we have all been adopted, sealed and delivered into the love of a Father who keeps His promises. If you have a combined family, have remarried into a family with kids from a previous marriage, or if God gifted you with an adopted child on earth, this prayer may bring a peace to your heart that surpasses all understanding. ADOPTIVE OR FOSTER CHILDREN. Claim the authority as parents.  Parents who marry a 2nd time, accept responsibility for all stepchildren.

HEAVENLY FATHER,  Today, on ____________, I accept all responsibility to love and care for (child )_______.  I declare before all powers in heaven and earth that child (name)______ is under my authority and protection.  Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that You have given us power over all the power of the enemy. Luke 10:19  I exercise that power now and I bind and break the power of every spirit of the kingdom of darkness outside of parent (name)______ that tries to prevent parent from feeling like the child is mine.  I speak to all spirits and principalities that have entered parents life through personal sins or actions of others and seek to prevent your healing and restoration in any way.  Satan, I bind you, rebuke you and render you POWERLESS in the life of _child and command you to RELEASE HIM! In the name of Jesus I release the SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND LOVE, the SPIRIT OF GOD and SALVATION upon me.   Father, I pray that You heal the wounds that could lead this child in the wrong direction. I break the power of generational curses and familiar spirits that would lead them in the wrong direction.  Father, I ask You to open the eyes of my child and turn us from darkness to light, so that we may receive forgiveness for our sins and share in the inheritance of the saints. I ask You to reveal Yourself to me and my child in a way we have never known You before.   In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

In the name of Jesus, I purpose and choose to forgive ____ from my heart for what they did. In the name of the Lord Jesus, I cancel all their debts and obligations to me. Dear Lord, I ask You to forgive me for my bitterness and unwillingness to forgive those who have offended me, hurt me or ridiculed me.  In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I cancel Satan’s authority over me in this memory because my heavenly Father has forgiven me. In the name of Jesus, I command that all the tormentors that have been assigned to me because of my unforgiveness and bitterness to leave me now. Holy Spirit, I invite You into my heart and ask You to heal me of this pain. Holy Spirit, tell me Your truth about this situation.

To ‘put away childish things’ does NOT mean FORGETTING what it is like to think and feel and touch and smell and taste and see and hear like an excited 3-year-old. The bashfulness of a 13-year-old, or even the curiosity of a 17 year-old. When I’m with other adult people who are serious all the time, it makes me feel dreadful. I put away childish fears and the foolish way of thinking that I have all the answers. Safe in my Fathers arms, I still want to cuddle up with Him and giggle. As I retain a child’s joy, I shall dazzle at being age 73. Thankfully I have truly learned what it means to be mature in God’s lavish grace.
