In September 2023, my listening prayer counselor heard me say “I dont ever want to be like my mom!” Grace stepped in as the prayer counselor reminded me to remember whatever my mom did well. We then prayed to break the sin of a VOW— to never be like my mom. This is a sin against God’s command to honor my parents. Our weekly session continued and with gentle probing, I confessed a mild dissatisfaction, an inability to feel God’s presence in my state of discontent. We prayed through a wisely discerned bit of bitterness.

We work out our salvation by confessing, repenting, and turning from all hate, anger, bitterness, and revenge against others. When we stop comparing ourselves to other people and believe that we are precious in the sight of God, just as He created us, we will experience His peace. There is no place to hide from God. If we envy another, if we are jealous of their gifts, we ask our Father to make that root of bitterness known to us so that we can confess it and heal. 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 “Whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” Seek, Find, give thanks for wisdom.

We purpose and choose to CONNECT the DOTS of our physical symptoms, to a possible STRESSOR and cause of a disease. It is a well established fact from Scripture that many diseases have underlying root causes that have to do with how we have always thought, spoken and communicated in our relationships with God and others. Broken people choose to use their tongues to speak both blessings and curses, and this should not be! “Those things which proceed out of the mouth (words) come forth from the heart and they (words) defile a man.” Matthew 15:18 “I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2

“CONFESS YOUR SINS TO ONE ANOTHER, and PRAY for one another, that ye may be healed.” James 5:16 “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16  

We purpose and choose to look at what unseen, unknown, unconfessed sin MIGHT BE causing our disease. Doctors admit that BITTERNESS and STRESS are both causes of cancer.

Using scripture to justify my sluggard ways. “I know what to do, and I don’t do it. That is an act of disobedience, a willful defiance. I choose NOT to deny my flesh? Why? I choose to be content in my lack of self-discipline, in having less of the fruit of the Spirit of God. PRAY through abandonment, self- bitterness, self-hatred, my self-rejection, fear of success, fear of change, self-pity, rebellion.

From the symptom to a possible cause, select a PRAYER to release any unforgiveness of self, the doctor, the adverse event, the trauma, or any generational sins or any soul ties.
