Confident in the Light

Life gets dark when we try too hard to please unpleaseable folks. But when we focus on pleasing our Creator, He leads us by His light out of the pit. By His Light we learn to trust Him with the details and the outcomes. Our emotions may run  deep, but as we keep our minds full of His instruction, our feelings shift to coincide — and we become overcomers. As He is the Light, we become a transformed light, and He equips us to cope with hope.

After our surrender to the Truth, the Light of the world illuminates us ever so gently – we hear His faint voice echo in our hearts 💕 “walk this way.”  When it comes to dying to ourselves, we ponder less which way to go. Ah, such glorious freedom it is to remain in the Light and move easily along. We wear our faith boldly, and we choose to push into Him as a cookie cutter into the dough of our flesh. Such focused effort cuts off anything that resembles the world. We walk strengthened in the Spirit, and it is by the Spirit of God that we do our Father’s will.

Apart from God, we can do nothing, so gladly, we drop our baggage and move forward. Yes, in this life, there are pitfalls.  With quicksands sucking at our feet, evil ever trying  to drown us into disbelief, self-pity, and despair —ALAS, we tread on scorpions and trample and crush every dark scheme.  With the Holy Spirit’s great power and confidence, we do NOT walk on tiptoes.  We stomp and shout boldly the name of Jesus! At the sound of His name,  every lying, deceiving, tormenting spirit runs off, shrieking in fear. Glory to God for His light, power, and truth.

❤️ Romans 1:1 “Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and SET APART for the gospel of God.” We are called to be different.
❤️ Galatians 1:15 “When God, who SET me APART from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being…I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie….They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” And they praised God because of me.
❤️ Acts 13:2 “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “SET APART for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
❤️ Exodus 32:29 Moses said, “You have been SET APART apart to the Lord today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and He has blessed you this day.”

Where are the “Hard-Headed” Christians who don’t wilt in the face of pressure and are not blown by the fancy “music” of those preaching a different Gospel?

David was on the run. A fugitive from the crown that had all the resources to capture and exterminate this insurrectionist. Saul is hot on his heels but David does not faint. He responds with an indelible faith, humble cries and steadfast resolve. He is what one might say Stubborn! He will not bend to the lesser crown of mortals while being a subject of the One who wears the CROWN of the universe. And he displays this stubbornness with unfettered praise while being pursued.

It is my observation that modern Christianity in the west has produced the soft, malleable christians who bends to the circumstances. Any other reaction would cause them to be accused of being intolerable, but not David! David will not bend! He will not fold! He may run but it will only be to the refuge of his God.

If you have the chance read Psalms 57. It will put fire in your bones, strength in your back and relentless resolve for the battle ahead.”

    Firm Heart, John Whitener
