There is a poetic Psalm that God will use to speak into any emptiness. Our Father commissioned the Psalms, to touch, transform, and transport us as we walk through the valleys. As we luxuriate in His Word, we discover we are not alone. His supernatural way is to enable us to love ourselves, and others as our Father loves. The beautiful words of our ancestors give us permission to talk to God with pure transparency. We are inspired to cry out, ask questions and stand in awe of His majesty. The desire to feel understood is satisfied deeply in a Psalm. Refreshed, we then are ready to praise Him in all things. Psalm 91 is the only protection you need during any plague imagined or otherwise.

“We live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above all gods. This I declare, that He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I am trusting Him. For He rescues you from every trap and protects you from the fatal plague. He will shield you with His wings! They will shelter you. His faithful promises are your armor. Now you don’t need to be afraid of the dark anymore, nor fear the dangers of the day; nor dread the plagues of darkness, nor disasters in the morning. Though a thousand fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying around me, the evil will not touch me. I will see how the wicked are punished, but I will not share it. For Jehovah is my refuge! I choose the God above all gods to shelter me. How then can evil overtake me or any plague come near? For He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail. You can safely meet a lion or step on poisonous snakes, yes, even trample them beneath your feet! For the Lord says, “Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will make him great because he trusts in My name. When he calls on me, I will answer; I will be with him in trouble and rescue him and honor him. I will satisfy him with a full life and give him My salvation.” Enjoy the treasure hunt in God’s Word for that living word that you thirst for. There is a Psalm written just for you.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous.” Psalm 19

The Psalms teach us to pray with respect for Who is listening. God knows our hearts, He has written all our days in a book. It is God’s desire that we live out the book that He wrote for us, before we were born. He assigned angels to help us accomplish all that He wants, using the gifts He gave us. As a person of Christ prays in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit activates angelic activity which enables us to live on purpose as we fulfill the agenda God preordained for us.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.” Psalm 139:13-18

Psalm 91 states that when we sit under the shadow of God Almighty, we are hidden in the strength of the Most High. Our Father is the hope that we confidently cling to. Our Father is trustworthy; whatever He speaks is the everlasting truth. God does not change, His Word is unshakable. We declare that there are no other gods before us. We wisely choose to smash any idols that attempt to elevate themselves above God. He is the One who gives us great confidence. He rescues us from every hidden trap of the enemy.

False accusations or any deadly curse; bounce off our shield of faith in the One who never leaves us. We wisely choose His covering of majesty and His trustworthy faithfulness. We are victorious against night terrors or demonic forces. When attacks come, we are not afraid, but with confidence we speak boldly and the demons scatter in fear. During disasters, when thousands perish, we will remain unharmed. We will watch as the unbelievers vanish in righteous judgment. Walking in the shadow of God, we are in the secret hiding place. Evil runs as we stand firmly in the authority given to us. We prevail against all attacks.

The Holy Spirit inspired every Psalm for our benefit. The Holy Spirit ministers to us as our Comforter, Teacher and Counselor. As we acknowledge our personal angels, they are glad to be invited to work with us. They show up in full power to serve along with us. We can feel secure and safe as our angels protect us. – Psalms was supernaturally scribed for use in the Temple of God and verses that compel us to repent. “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and You lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.” Psalm 139 – “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4

David, the shepherd who became king is considered to be the main commissioned writer as he lends his voice to the Spirit. Seventy three of the 150 Psalms were penned by David. Moses wrote Psalm 90 and Solomon wrote 72 and 127. The New Testament quotes the Psalms at least 20 times as they refer us to Christ. As we read the Psalms, we connect with the joy of the Lord, and His countless blessings.

Our deepest feelings of alienation are removed as the Spirit of God ministers to our souls. “From my birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God…I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint…my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth…They have pierced my hands and feet.” (Psalm 22)

Psalms supernaturally compel us to repent “Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight.” “Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are those who keep His statutes and seek Him with all their heart—they do no wrong but follow His ways.” Psalm 119

As God is our dwelling place like Moses wrote “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations” (Psalm 90) Trusting in God’s Truth, we walk in confidence, assured that He will never forsake us. “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” (John 15:7). The deep Word of God touches down in our soul as it waters the seed of Truth planted in us.

The great words contained in Psalm 119:154-156 exalt the Son of God from whom salvation comes. “Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek out your decrees. Your compassion is great, O Lord.” The book of Psalm is in the middle of the Bible; however, the deeper fact is that the Psalms reflect all of the human experience. It is a book dedicated to us by God so that we may connect to our Father’s heart. These inspired words are for the sick, the suffering, all who are trapped in addictions, all who are alone, feeling rejected. These divinely written words draw us close to our Comforter.

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12

When we turn to walk towards our Father, He runs to meet us. When we ask for our sins to be forgiven, our Father wipes our slate clean with the blood of Jesus, and He remembers our sins no more. The final Psalm 150 “Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for his surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” —

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.” Psalm 139

Psalm 100:1-5 ❤️ “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His ; we are His people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Give thanks everyday.

Where does your help come from? Psalm 18:12-19 “He made darkness His covering, His canopy around Him—the dark rain clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of His presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. He shot His arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning He routed them. The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, Lord, at the blast of breath from your nostrils. He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.” Hallelujah ❤️

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Regardless of our “feelings” or circumstances, we must guard our hearts and minds with bold FAITH as we walk with God through the valleys, and across mountaintops. If we ever lose sight of the suffering of Jesus, courageous believers can easily move from a great victory to a state of despondency and despair. Remembering Elijah, we gather wisdom to understand that immediately following any spiritual victory there will come an increased effort of the powers of darkness to discourage and offend. The devil works through lies that seem plausible, even while the shout of victory is still on a believer’s lips. Our Father reminds us to be vigilant as we filter the voices we listen to through His Word. We remain ready and steady as we expect an the arrows of the enemy after a great blessing. After succeeding magnificently on Mount Carmel, Elijah had effectively proved the prophets of Baal as powerless charlatans. He led Israel back to the one true living God, and his life was threatened by Queen Jezebel. Fear struck Elijah and he ran and hid in a cave. God knows all and we cannot hide from Him. God met Elijah in the cave and asks, “What are you doing here?” Elijah recognizes his mistake and returns to Israel to attend to his ministry. If we are driven by fear or anxiety, we must return to the rest and peace that God provides at all times. Now is time to leave that cave of despair, step back out in faith, and do what God has called you to do! 1 Kings 19:9
