Worthy or Worthless?

We are encouraged to “get understanding”! How exactly are we to obtain understanding? Left unto ourselves we would simply rely upon what we think is worthy or worthless. “Blessed are they that keep His testimonies” What testimony? “”Teach me, Lord, the meaning of Your statutes, and I will always keep them. Help me to understand Your instruction, and I will obey it and follow it with all my heart. Help me stay on the path of Your commands, for I take pleasure in it. Turn my heart to Your decrees and not to material gain. Turn my eyes from looking at what is worthless; give me life in Your ways. Confirm what You said to Your servant,, for it produces reverence for You.” Psalm 119:33-38 We keep God’s testimony foremost in our minds, and in our hearts. Wisdom tells us to NOT lean on our own understanding. Psalm 119 has a history of changing souls more than any other Scripture. Why? Who is the author of Psalm 119? Listen to the introduction in video two.

A great, all encompassing series by David Guzik. The Author of Psalm 119 is without a name. The Introduction to Psalm 119 explains how God divinely inspired the pattern of the Psalm that glorifies His Word which refers to His written revelation. Eight frequently repeated terms in Psalm 119. 1) Law/Torah – God’s written revelation 2) Word – the revelation, what proceedeth from God’s mouth. 3) Judgement, regulate or discern right from wrong and choose 4) Testimony, remaining loyal to the terms of His covenant. 5) Commandments, God’s right to give orders. “Oh, let me not wonder from Your commandments.” 6) Statutes – the authority of God to give us law which is engraved or inscribed on our hearts. 7) Precepts, or instructions of the Lord. “You have commanded me to keep Your precepts diligently.” Psalm 119:4 KJV – 8) Word “Your salvation according to Your word.”

“Open my eyes that I may see wonderous things” Lift the veil of my eyes that I may understand what is worthy, what is not. Reproach is an expression of disapproval or disappointment. Contempt is the feeling that someone is worthless.

TIME IS SHORT, time to return to the Lord with great affection. Do You Love ?
