Gratitude

Bedazzled and stilled, standing in the glory of God, remembering how the Lord my God led me through the wilderness. It was all for my good and His glory. He humbled and tested me in order to know what was in my heart, whether or not I would keep His commands.

My Father humbled me, causing me to hunger and then He fed me with Truth. Such good news I had never heard or known. My Father taught me that mankind does not live on what the world provides, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. While in the wilderness, a large group of grumblers wandered about for 40 years and never stopped to thank God for what He had already done.

“Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these 40 years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering Him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing.” Deuteronomy 8:2-7

Luke 10:21 NLT  “At that same time Jesus was filled with the JOY of the HOLY SPIRIT, and HE said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank YOU for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the CHILDLIKE. Yes, Father, it pleased YOU to do it this way.” Believe God and give Him thanks for His mercy filled, orderly plan.

In the grand tapestry of life, the roles we play often shift. Today, we may be the ones offering support; tomorrow, we might find ourselves in need of it. We are obedient when we treat our older loved ones with kindness and generous empathy. We are to honor their journey and enrich our own by creating a legacy of compassion that transcends every generation. Do not be frustrated as people you love age.  Consider their personal frustrations as  they fret over what they can no longer do. Obey your Father and be kind and honor those who God arranged to speak truth into your life along the path.

Take time to bless your home with olive oil and hyssop. Give thanks to Jesus for calling you His own, for loving you so much, that He shed His blood to cover your sins. Remember all the times God has forgiven you, and then forgive yourself. Love God as He loves you. Our imperfections are used by God to bring us to realize that we need a Saviour.
