Prophecy

“True prophecy reflects the unity of the Spirit and the oneness of the body of Christ, where no member is above another.” Dr Mark Chironna. As the many contemporary prophets claim to have a “special” relationship with God, no matter how they phrase it, it is not revelation but excessive pride, hubris. True revelation within the Christian tradition is rooted in the community of faith, tested by the Scriptures, and confirmed by the Spirit. Any assertion that elevates the individual over the whole body of believers runs counter to the humility required by the Gospel. This kind of self-exaltation reflects a distortion of the prophetic calling, which always points back to Christ and the faith once delivered to the saints, not to personal status or special privilege.

Dr Mark Chironna

“Humility is a hallmark of true revelation. The prophetic gift, like all spiritual gifts, is given for the common good, not personal elevation. It is essential to recognize that throughout biblical history, true prophets never sought to draw attention to themselves or to a supposed unique relationship with God. Instead, they were OFTEN RELUCTANT messengers, keenly aware of their own limitations and the WEIGHT of their CALLING. Their TASK was always to SPEAK on BEHALF of GOD, calling HIS PEOPLE back to FIDELITY, REPENTANCE, and HOLINESS. Claims of having exclusive access to divine revelation create an unnecessary and dangerous separation between the prophet and the body of Christ, promoting elitism rather than the shared experience of grace available to all believers.”

Genuine prophecy aligns with the character and nature of God as revealed in Scripture, emphasizing His love, justice, mercy, and truth. When self-proclaimed prophets claim to possess a “special” connection that places them above correction or accountability, they depart from the model set by Christ and the apostles. Scripture cautions against those who elevate themselves and draw attention away from Christ, for true prophecy must lead to the edification of the Church, not the glorification of the individual. It must always be tested and discerned within the community, in submission to the Spirit, Scripture, and the wisdom of the wider Church. Any claim to an exclusive relationship with God, which denies the reality that all believers share in the Holy Spirit and have access to the Father through Christ, reveals a profound misunderstanding of the nature of grace. It is hubris to believe that God favors one individual in such a way that others are denied access to the same revelation or intimacy with Him.” Dr. Mark Chironna

In a dream, Jacob saw a stairway  with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Above the stairway stood the Lord, and He said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” When Jacob awoke, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was NOT aware of it. How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.” The next day Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.” Genesis 28

Our Lord draws us into a deeper intimacy through His Word. His purpose is to cause greater excitement for our future. We employ the Holy Spirit as our personal trainer, and we are greatly encouraged. With our eyes and ears tuned into our constant Guide, the Lover of our soul leads, and we gladly follow. As our Lord leads in His glorious strength, we shall not be shaken. Psalm 16:8. Our Father’s grand plan is far superior to anything that we can imagine. “You will be blessed and repaid at the resurrection of the just.” Luke 14:14 September 6, 2024 “I decree that I shall not grow weary of doing good, for in due season, I will reap my Fathers generous reward.” Galatians 6:9 personalized.

UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH INWARDLY. We believe all who are taught of God have no confidence in themselves.

The flesh is totally useless even in the matter of knowing the Word of God.

People may grasp a truth in their mind, yet they remain totally ignorant of that truth as knowing nothing.

Only in the Holy Spirit, in life, may we understand spiritual things. We are prone to stand on the revelation and light of other people, thus turning ourselves back to the law.

The New Testament age is a spiritual age, therefore people are wise to lean not on their own understanding and deny flesh and prefer to be taught inwardly by God and understand the truth inwardly.

Whatever comes from the outside (including the mind) and at the same times does not penetrate or breakthrough long held thoughts — has no spiritual value. It is no different than not knowing God at all.

This, however, does not mean that we are not willing to be taught by brethren. Yet we deeply feel that unless the Holy Spirit quickens the truth in us, we can do nothing. We would further say that the reason for the deadness and feebleness of the saints today is largely due to their receiving and following the truth by their own feeding on the knowledge of mind. The law. In spite of the exactness of the letter, it is absolutely not of the Holy Spirit. For this reason, we can only wait on God and rely on His Holy Spirit, instead of trusting our own mind. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6
