Progressive Victory

We run the race, and by His grace, we  keep the pace and celebrate His victory! Our song of victory, “They have overcome him by the blood of the lamb.” Rev 12:11. Our Lord Jesus has made us not only priests, but also kings unto God, that we may draw near to Him and rule for Him. Inspired from within by a kingly spirit, we take on a divine gift of courage to rule over our enemies. The blood of the lamb is the seal that purged, cleansed, and wiped away all guilt. God also sealed His saints with the power of the Holy Spirit.  We are clothed in His righteousness and invited to come before our holy God, fully  reconciled by the blood. Forgiven and equipped, loved, and sanctified, we enjoy God’s victory over all the power of sin.  In communion, we remember the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. The casting out of Satan was the results of the shedding of His blood. We praise God for the divine insight that we may now enjoy the fullness  of  His blood.  We are seated with Him in the heavenly places above all dark powers and dominions. With our entire being soaked in the power of the blood of Jesus, as God’s warrior saints, we enjoy a continual victory over all the plots of darkness. The power of the blood of the Lamb exposes and completely disarms the cunning deceits of the prince of this world.  The battle was fought and won as Jesus walked out of the tomb victorious.  The hearts of God’s people rejoice in our ongoing, progressive victory.  We boldly sing in the choir of heaven.  “Now is come salvation and virtue, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ, for the accuser of our brethren is cast down. They have overcome him by the blood of the lamb, and the word of their testimony.” Revelation 12

The blood of the lamb achieved victory in heaven, on earth, and in our hearts through reconciliation, faith, and the ongoing conflict against Satan’s influence. “She brought forth a man child, who was to rule all the Gentiles with a rod of iron. And her child was caught up unto God and to His throne. And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels, and did not prevail. Neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, the serpent of old, who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Rev 12:5, 7-9.

The Child of the Church ascended to God

In the end, revelation tells us ofvthe hope we have because of the blood of Jesus. Satan is cast out because of the blood of the lamb. God’s mysterious redemptive plan includes reconciliation for all sin and the fulfillment of the law. All Satan’s authority and rights are stripped from him. The blood that blotted out sin yet overrules evil with a faithful promise to bind  Satan forever. By His blood, this is our victory “in Christ” which is ongoing and progressive to the end of the spiritual battle. Satan has been cast down to earth, so the heavenly victory must now be carried out here. The victory in heaven and on earth progresses and comes to rest on God’s holy ground. The woman signifies nothing but the church of God, out of which Jesus was born. When the devil could not harm him anymore, he persecuted his church. The disciples of our Lord and the church in the first three centuries had experienced this. In the bloody persecutions where hundreds of thousands of Christians perished as martyrs, Satan did his utmost to lead the church into apostasy or to root it out altogether. In its full sense, the statement that, “They have overcome him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death,” this applies to the martyrs. After centuries of persecution came rest and worldly prosperity. Old Hymns

In the Book of Daniel, we learn of a previous conflict between the Archangel Michael, who stood on the side of God’s people Israel, and the opposing world powers. We know from Daniel what fellowship there exists between heaven and earth in carrying on the work of God.  “And he said unto me, ‘Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you gave your heart to understand and to afflict your soul before your God, your words were heard, and I am come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me 21 days, and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, and I remained there with the kings of Persia.’” Daniel 10:12-13. As soon as Daniel prayed, the angel became active, and the three week battle in the heavenlies were three weeks of prayer and fasting on earth. The conflict here on earth is the result of a conflict in the invisible region of the heavenlies. Michael and his angels, as well as the brethren on earth, gained the victory by the blood of the lamb. The conflict was removed from heaven to earth. “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth,” exclaimed the voice in heaven, “for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man child.” Rev 12:12-13.

The Accuser has no right to accuse. “Now is come salvation and virtue, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ, for the accuser of our brethren is cast down. And they have overcome him by the blood of the lamb.” Rev 12:10-11. In vain Satan tried force to win the favor of the world. As the church became all inclusive, not wanting to offend by talking about the power of the blood over sin, conformed to the world, everything in the church became darker and darker until the Roman apostasy reached its climax in the Middle Ages. During all those dar ages, many saints fought the fight of faith in the midst of surrounding misery. By their reverence and witness for the Lord, the living scripture was spoken, “They have overcome him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Satan’s authority was broken down by the secret power of the spoken word. The discovery, experience, and preaching of the glorious truth, “Justified freely by His grace, through the redemption that is in Jesus the Christ, whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in His blood,” gave the reformers the wonderful power and a historical victory. Romans 3:24-25. Since the days of the Reformation, the church has been inspired by a new life to obtain victory over deadness in proportion to how the blood of the lamb is glorified. The blood of the Lamb is the weapon to destroy Satan’s power. To tell about the power of the blood to cleanse sin as God’s grace forgives, is to speak hope and love that has the power to open and soften  the most darkened, hard heart. That heart is transformed from being a dwelling place of Satan to a temple of the Most High.

The need for self-discipline has been taught by masters. We were taught to train our minds and bodies and to never give up! The battle is ongoing, but we persist to the end. “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24 God’s provision for the body of Christ is outlined in His Word for each believer. In the blood of the lamb, we all possess His victory. When the soul is convinced of the power of the blood to effect a perfect reconciliation and the blotting out of sin, it robs the devil of his authority over us.  The blood works in our hearts to infiltrate our mind with a full assurance of the favor of God. When the soul lives in the power of the blood, doubt is destroyed along with the power of sin. The temptations of Satan cease to ensnare the individual. God dwells where the holy blood of the lamb is applied, and Satan is banished. In heaven, on earth, and in our hearts, the blood of the lamb provides an ongoing victory. “They have overcome him by the blood of the lamb.” It is our glorious shared victory.

To have the full enjoyment of this, however, we must understand the following facts. No victory without conflict. We must recognize that we dwell in the enemy’s territory. What was revealed to the apostle in his heavenly vision must hold true in our daily lives. Satan has been cast down to the earth and has great wrath because his time is short. He cannot reach the glorified Jesus now, so he seeks to hurt God by attacking His people. We must obey God’s warning and guard our hearts from the deceiver. We are watched by an enemy with unimaginable cunning and power. Satan and his legion never tire in their endeavor to bring us under his authority. Satan is literally the prince of this world.
John 14:30. All that is in the world is ready to serve him, and he knows how to make use of it in his attempts to lead the church to be unfaithful to her Lord. “He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.”

Satan uses the lusts of the world to tempt us to seek gold over God.  He enters our conversations with gossip and criticism. He seeks to influence our financial affairs and our politics. He tries to control our literature, science, and knowledge. In all things, he works to turn all that is lawful in itself into a tool for his devilish deceptions The believer who desires to share in the victory over Satan through the blood of the lamb must be a fighter. We must understand the character of our enemy be taught by the spirit the  cunning of Satan. He will deceive even the elect. The saints must know that this battle is, “Not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the lords of this age, rulers of this darkness, against spiritual wickedness in the heavens.” Ephesians 6:12. All saints must be devoted to carrying on the conflict until death. Only then will we be able to join in the song of victory, “and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Our everlasting victory comes through faith.  “Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5. Gladly “Be of good cheer,” said our Lord Jesus, “I have overcome the world.” Satan is already a conquered enemy.

Satan tossed out of heaven

Satan has zero power over the soul who belongs to the Lord Jesus. By unbelief, ignorance, or doubting my assurance in the victory of Jesus, I may give Satan an authority over me, which otherwise he does not possess. But when I know that I am one with the Lord Jesus, and that he lives in me and maintains that victory which he gained, then Satan has no power over me. Victory through the blood of the lamb is the power of my life. Only such FAITH can inspire courage and joy in the battle. By thinking of the terrible power of the enemy, and the way he has taken possession of everything on earth, leads to ela defeated mind.  “The battle is too severe, or it is not possible to live always under such tension, or that life is impossible.” If we had to meet the enemy in our weakness or gain the victory by our own might, we would be overcome.  But God gave us the blood and
Jesus is the victor. So we only need to have our souls filled with the heavenly vision of Satan being cast out of heaven by Jesus. Our SOULS need to be FILLED with FAITH in the BLOOD by which Jesus HIMSELF conquered death.  Then, “We are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37. Trust God Always

We are baptized in victory through our personal fellowship with the blood of the Lamb. Faith is not a thought to grasp. It is a gift; it is our weapon, it is our life “in Christ.” Faith brings the soul into direct contact with God and the unseen things of heaven. Above all, with the blood of Jesus, victory over Satan is not possible without putting ourself under the power of the blood. Belief in the power of the blood produces in us an intense desire for an experience of its power. Each experience of its power makes belief in victory more glorious.

Seek to enter more deeply into the perfect reconciliation with God, which is yours. Live by constantly exercising faith in the assurance that the blood cleanses from all sin and yield yourself to be sanctified and brought near to God through the blood. Let it be your life-giving nourishment and power Hallelujah and so it is, by His grace that we enjoy an unbroken experience of victory over Satan and his temptations. The saints who walk with God, rule as a conquering force over Satan. AMEN
