Refiner’s Fire

What truly delights our hearts? Is it to know that our Creator, our heavenly Father is pleased with our words and actions? By   asking the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and His perfect understanding, as we read the Bible outloud, the Holy Spirit refines our way of thinking and acting. He works in us to burn away all previous teachings of man.

Our flawed ways are replaced as He confirms in our spirit God’s will for us. The Holy Spirit is the Refiner’s fire of God. It is uncomfortable to be in the flames of change, but the more time we spend in a submitted state with the Holy Spirit, the more refined we become. He burns away the flaws of the flesh and rids us of our unhealthy habits.

The Holy Spirit desires to conform our character into the humble character of Christ. Each moment we spend surrendered to the Holy Spirit, every second we spend aware of His faithful transforming power in us, we are being changed to God’s glory. Lord Jesus, not my will, but the Father’s will be done in me as He purifies my conscience of guilt or shame. I accept the full atoning work of Jesus. The Spirit of God purified me, my motives, my mind, my memories, my actions, and my speech. His fire burned away my bitterness, my stubbornness, my pride, and my old familiar ways. His fire brought discomfort, but His necessary fire burnt off the dead things of this world. Submitted to the Holy Spirit and consumed by His power, my desire is to know God more.  His way is to continue the good work He began. He is the finisher of my faith! Glory be to God. I trust the Holy Spirit who abides in me to refine me to the point that I love my enemies, my neighbors, and family as God loves me. Without remembering my past, or my stumblings.

DO NOT BE IGNORANT OF GOD’S WAYS. “Our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. Now these things occurred as EXAMPLES to KEEP US FROM SETTING OUR HEARTS on evil things as they did. Do NOT be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”

Philippians 1:9-11 “This is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”
