My mother once told me “A lady never buys her own perfume.” How lovely it is to receive a bottle of pleasantness from the man who loves you. “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.” Proverbs 27:9
I treasure this advice from my mother and once I shared that memory with my husband he delivered unto me a bottle of “Michael” by MK. – “Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer
It will be the sacred anointing oil.” Exodus 30:25 — My sweet collection of fragrant elixirs are cherished and used with thoughts of love. “Before a young woman’s turn came to go in to King Xerxes, she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and cosmetics.”
Esther 2:2 — Consider the delight of a woman as she enjoys a massage with oils of rich fragrance. “a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.” Matthew 26:7 —
What a wonderful picture of devotion, to pour perfume on the feet of Jesus. My mother loved perfume and as a little girl I remember her vanity and all the pretty bottles. Her favorite flavor in the 50’s was “Interlude”. It was my dearest Momma Mia who shared the scent of “Michael” with me. As I whiff myself with fragrance, I am reminded of your unique bouquet and your acute nose for delicious aromas. The picture below is my tribute vanity of dainty decanters of divine. Happy Mother’s Day to my sweet mum, Maria Herzig Crane, a woman who lived well. ❤️ Momma Mia
My mother “Momma Mia” was born in Shuen Ecken, Germany. She met my dad, an Army man during the war. They got married and she immigrated to the USA. My mother died in March 2016. RIP Momma!
