“Fear NOT for I have redeemed you” Isaiah – As a Partaker of His rejection and suffering, we are more than Overcomers because of His sacrifice to redeem us. Consider how your FAITH, DEVOTION and OBEDIENCE blesses God, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The Chosen was developed through the passion of many to make the Gospel of Christ heard privately and in theatres by ordinary followers that struggle to live in this broken world. As citizens of heaven, we have been set apart for His purpose. The Chosen leads us to better understand the culture and the challenges the people faced when Jesus showed up — by expanding a few of the characters, we relate to the time it took for them to fully surrender. Each follower was called by name and they chose to sacrifice much. They were not perfect, they fell short, they struggled to understand each word Jesus spoke. The audience that views as His Chosen, hopefully will draw deeper into their own relationship with Christ, our Redeemer. Every script is reviewed by an Evangelical Pastor, a Messianic Jewish Rabbi Jason Sobel, and a Catholic Priest.

THE DISCLAIMER by Dallas Jenkins “VIEWERS ARE ENCOURAGED to READ the GOSPELS. The Chosen is based on the true stories of the gospels of Jesus Christ. Some locations and timelines have been combined or condensed. Back stories and some characters or dialogues have been added. However, all biblical and historical context and artistic imagination are designed to support the truth and intention of the Scriptures.
Deuteronomy 7:8-9 “it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath He swore to your ancestors that He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.” Shabbat Shalom
“Family are the people of God” Season One, Episode 1 takes place in Capernaum, a Roman occupied city where the Jews were heavily taxed, their worship of God Almighty was suppressed and they were brutally managed by force. A centurion named Praetor Quintas is under the rule of Dominus, head of this Roman region. Episode ONE: “I have called you by name” Brothers Simon and Andrew struggle with their tax debt. Lilith meets Jesus who delivers her from demons and calls her by name “Mary”. Episode TWO: “Shabbat” The Centurion warns Matthew about arguing with Dominus about collecting the tax due from those who fish on Shabbat. The teacher of teachers Nicodemus is visiting Capernaum and he is witness to the miraculous deliverance of Mary. Nicodemus had burned incense and prayed for Mary. But Mary quickly says“It was nothing you did Rabbi, it was someone else who redeemed me. I do not know his name but He said “His time for man to know has not yet come. All I know is that once I was one way, and now I am completely different.” Mary set the table for a Passover with an extra place setting. Someone uninvited knocks on the door, Mary answers to find Jesus, the Passover Lamb. Mary opens the Shabbat giving honor and glory to God for having given them a Shabbat in memory of their Exodus from Egypt. Nicodemus also leads a group in prayer asking his wife before the Shabbat “Who is responsible for suppressing our worship now?”
CHARACTERS introduced. Jesus of Nazareth, Quintas, Dominus, Mary Magdalene (Lilith), Matthew, Simon and his brother Andrew, his wife Eden, Nicodemus, James and John. In the comment section below, clips of two powerful scenes from future seasons. 1) Nicodemus meets Jesus privately. 2) Jesus meets the woman at the well. Each episode builds on the previous. Just like in the Bible, we may be confounded by how a scene ends, but on this earth, there were no happy endings for any of these first disciples. John 3:16 imparts the Father’s sacrifice to usher us into eternal life. AMEN
Faith comes by hearing, and seeing. “Follow Me and you will see more”. Jesus came to save us from Hell but many quickly respond to the Truth “I’m good, I am nice to my neighbors, I dont need to be saved!” God repeats Himself because He does not desire to lose a single soul. 42 times in the book of Matthew alone, Jesus warns people about HELL.
