Our understanding of Melchizedek’s High Priestly ministry would be helpful in understanding Jesus’ High Priestly ministry and its superiority to the Levitical priesthood. Genesis 14:18-19 “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.”

Seek the Truth, surrender and be taught by the Holy Spirit, our Teacher, Guide, Healer and the only One assigned by God Almighty to reveal Truth. Wisdom is a reward. “Where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? No mortal comprehends its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living. Where does understanding dwell? God understands the way to it and He alone knows where it dwells, for He said to the human race, “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” Summary of Job 12

John 8:58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” The mystery of the King and High Priest of the God Most High will be revealed when we meet our Lord face to face. We take the Biblical mystery of the identity of Melchizedek on faith alone. Is the High Priest none other than the Anointed One of Israel? Is he our Messiah who was, who is and who will forever be the High Priest? Only Jesus qualifies based on holy Scriptures. In the Kidron Valley, a High Priest of God Most High named Melchizedek, blessed and anointed Abraham.

Melchizedek in Salem also known as Zion, is the same location prior to the ancient community known as the City of David. Was there a temple before Solomon built one? This historical find in Jerusalem is very well documented and the significance is worthy of all followers of Jesus Christ.
Jesus the indestructible High Priest. Hebrews 7:1-17 “This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” ( Who is the Prince of Peace?)

“Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, (Jesus) He remains a priest forever. Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder! Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people—that is, from their fellow Israelites—even though they also are descended from Abraham. This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the Greater.”

“If perfection (Who lived a perfect, sinless life?) could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron? For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. (God’s Word does not change) He of whom these things are said belonged to a DIFFERENT tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar. For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears, One who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an INDESTRUCTIBLE life. For it is declared: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

Jesus is indestructible, the eternal High Priest. ✨️ Hebrews 7:1-17 NIV “This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High.” 🙌
