Love Mysteries?

Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys captivated my imagination as they set about to solve mysteries. They were most likely an inspiration to Agatha Christie, Sherlock, Poirot and others who sleuth to the best of their natural ability to uncover the truth — about Who done it? In the novels and the TV series, suspects flash before us, but in the end, what gets revealed was always there. “Draw near to Me and hear this: From the beginning, I did not speak in secret; From the time anything existed, I was there. “And now the Lord God has sent me, endowed with His spirit.” Isaiah 40:16-17

Rarely does man with all his collected methods, philosophical theories, science and investigations understand Who created the cell, our DNA and caused the Sun to circle planet earth? The mystery of God continues to astound science as they test their theories. If God exists, why do good people suffer? Why is there evil? When humans exhaust all their hypothesis, which is simply humanities best guess — as they surrender and admit they need help to get the answers they seek —-God draws them by His Spirit to bring those seeking truth — into relationship with all truth. Our Father reveals ALL the mysteries of old and He gives us an all knowing Helper, the Holy Spirit. “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13

“Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.” Ecclesiastes 11:5 — was written by Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived. “The mystery of God will be accomplished, just as He announced to His servants the prophets.” Revelation 10:7 ❤️ “To them God has chosen to make known among the lost the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27 ❤️ “The wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God, His plan that was previously hidden, even though He made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.” 1 Corinthians 2:7 ❤️ “I tell you a mystery: we will all be changed” 1 Corinthians 15:51 ❤️ “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 ❤️ “Listen carefully to wisdom; set your mind on understanding.” Proverbs 2:2 ❤️ “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:2 ❤️ “We look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.” Titus 2:13

“Your works are wonderful. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. How precious are Your thoughts God!” Psalm 139 “I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments. For though I am far away from you, My heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:4-7 —-God’s Word is our source of truth “This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.” Colossians 1:6 — His Word never bends, and our Father never changes. “Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:16 Jesus came to testify to the Truth, and the Bible is the living and continuously active Word of God. Search the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit will reveal ALL truth. AMEN “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” 1 John 2:20 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you ALL things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26 “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.” John 14:16

It was a great bonding time. I’d read with him and to him at bedtime. Wonderful times and memories are often accompanied by books. 💖

  2. Yes, a local book shop was closing downtown in the 50’s and my dad brought home boxes of books which filled old fashioned library. The walls were paneled around a giant fireplace with floor to ceiling bookshelves. My sister and I set up a Dewey filing system and within those books were all of Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Pearl S Buck, a Whitehouse Cookbook and the Blue Tale Fairy Book. Wish we would have had the sense to treasure them enough to keep them. Some people golf, jog, play cards, puzzle, cook, color or sew, my delight is to creatively draw people into the power of the written word of God. ENJOY

  3. It is best not to TEST God at His word. Mark 3:28-30 “Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” Jesus said this because the priests were saying He had an impure spirit. 🔥 Suggesting that Jesus who is ONE with God, and the Holy Spirit …that the Son of God was possessed with an impure spirit was to blaspheme, or offend the Triune God. The word “blaspheme” means “to show contempt for.” How do people show contempt for the Holy Spirit? Refusing to believe in Jesus and trust His word of wisdom and warning. People also “trample their gift of faith by simply attending church, as they continue in their old ways, never fully submitting to the Holy Spirit. God has great patience, but there comes a time when patience is over and judgment begins. Forgive us Lord for our ways are not yours. Speaking against the Spirit of God is eternally unforgivable. AMEN
