Bucket List

We all have a bucket list of things we would like to do before we expire or get transported into eternity. Holding that thought and your to-do-someday-list in your mind, have you ever considered what God wants? Today’s stirring message was all about what our Father has consistently wanted. “A People” that would not be His fair weather friends, who only call when they are needy. God wants a people to be His best, reliable, trustworthy, close friends. Who was your BFF in High School? Do you even remember their name? Do you have their phone number handy?

While we may hope to lounge around the pool or enjoy the pounding of crashing waves, do we even consider Who created all that is good? Who do you call to thank when life is going great? Who shows up on your social media timeline? Mary was posted in scripture by God for her great love for Jesus. “I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven – as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little, loves little.” Luke 7:47 God chose a young prophet to speak a prophetic word to His future people. “They will be (future) My people and I will be their God.” Jeremiah 32:38 To the dismay of our Father, the behavior of His people was recorded in the Old Testament, and 90% flunked badly. Thank the Lord Jesus for what He accomplished on the cross. Today His people were given the Holy Spirit to teach, lead and comfort us. As we look at the church of Jesus Christ today, do we witness people falling asleep? Do you think His seal of approval is on most pastors in the pulpit? New Hearts

Most importantly, we must examine our hearts and confess that which would dishonor God. Have you been forgiven 70 X 7 for putting other things before God? For lying, boasting, envy, stealing attention, robbing the reputation of another, being arrogant or prideful? This letter was addressed to mankind “If we claim we have not sinned, we make God a liar.” 1 John 1:10 If we are a slave to sin, we have no permanent position within the family of God for eternal life with our Father is a permanent residence. When John wrote that letter he was stating that he could not be joyful knowing that the Bride of Christ was lost. God said “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 In the NIV Bible the word heart appears 604 times. What God wants is our heart. He wants us to seek after Him with all of our heart, mind and soul. God commended Caleb “Because My servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.” Numbers 14:24 Our Father promises us over and over again that He will be found faithful and true to His word. “If from there (wherever you are) you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29 Another young servant of the Lord made history by his fearless obedience. “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has be fulfilled; not one has failed.” Joshua 23:14 Has you best friend in life been able to keep all their promises to you? Then there is this convicting word from our Father “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 Ask God to reveal anything in you that needs confessing, so that you may have a pure heart as you stand before Him.
