Big Idea

“What’s the big idea?” For today, let us consider that through the new CUT covenant with God, that our Father forgives His people and empowers us to KNOW Him. According to custom, a covenant or a promise to fulfill an agreement always included a blood sacrifice. Can Jews or Gentiles escape the need of a blood sacrifice? Does God give an advantage to anyone accoding to their nationality? “Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.” Romans 3:9 ❤️ The first covenant God cut by God was with the Jews, but they blew it multiple times. After Jesus was born, God cut a 2nd covenant to include the Gentiles. All those who believe that Jesus is the Messiah are included in the 2nd covenant.

A word from God gave HOPE to Abraham beyond what Abe could see or fully understand. Abe was old, and his body was past life producing seed. However, Abe was fully persuaded that he would be the father of many nations. Abe believed the promise of God by faith — that God could give life to the dead as He called things that are NOT alive or working, as if they were able to function — before they did.

In Galatia Paul corrected Peter. “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?  We who are Jews by birth and not sinful. Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.” Galatians 2:14-16 God CUT a new covenant that sliced through the law of Moses to include both Jew and Gentile.

“For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” 1 Corin 12:13 The truth is revealed in Scripture. “many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.” Matthew 19:30 The first covenant was with the Jews, and many shall be last to believe that Jesus is the Messiah. The Gentiles who came last, will be first to enter the kingdom of God because they believed in Jesus when Jews refused. Let Abe be our example. In this life when we are told we have no chance, or if a doctor says there is no hope. “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations.” Abe never doubted that God would fulfill His promise. He consistently trusted God at His Word beyond the physical circumstances.

“FAITH is the SUBSTANCE of things HOPED for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NIV — We hope to get insights into our faith as we soak our minds in the Word of God. Our hope is what motivates us. It is what inspires us to set a goal for our faith. “Without faith, it is impossible to please God. ” Hebrews 11:6 Allow God to stir your spirit to act in faith as the Holy Spirit bears witness to your spirit that all things are possible for those who believe. God said it, and by faith we believe it.

We will harvest what we plant, and therefore, what seeds we plant matter a lot. Knowing we will reap whatever we sow, we are careful to sow words of faith. We speak words carefully. Our words are invisible objects that produce after their own kind. We plan for a time of great harvest by speaking words of faith in advance of the reaping. We project God’s faithfulness ahead of the anticipated crop by the words we speak. Our future need for His ongoing protection and provision is clear. Our hope in God is the substance, the anchor of our faith. Some seeds will sprout up quickly, but we must wait until the ear of corn matures fully before we harvest.

To release the power of God in our lives, we speak His promise in advance of the need. Abe declared himself to be the father of many nations every time he introduced himself as Abraham. PRAY “Oh Lord protect me from evil, give me a word to speak today in faith. Forgive me for my doubts, and increase my faith in your goodness and faithfulness.” AMEN

Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God, and of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His divine power, our Father has given us everything we need — in abundance — for life and Godliness through our knowledge of Him…..He called us and has given us His very great and precious promises, so through them you may PARTICIPATE in the DIVINE NATURE and escape the corruption in the world by evil desires. For this reason make every effort to ADD to your FAITH; goodness; knowledge; self-control; persistence; kindness; and brotherly LOVE. Without these, we are nearsighted and blind. READ 2 Peter chapter one. Enjoy teaching on new covenant.
