The Eagle desires to lift up the cat to greater heights. The cat is content to be grounded as it believes all that is needed is on earth. Some people study the Bible and extract only what suits them. There are folks who only believe in grace. They read and only apply harsh lessons to the Jews. Insisting that the repentance is for the Jews, while all lessons of grace relate to the gentile. Believing that all judgment is for the Jews is evidence of a lack of the full counsel of the Spirit. Without God’s grace, all is burdensome, difficult, and demanding for both Jew and Gentile. Foolishness is found in man’s limited, personal understanding. God’s Word is for all His children. Some believe that because Paul never said that his Epistles were written to Gentiles, then His exhortations are not for the Gentiles. This explanation lacks grace. It adds error to the Word of God. Others declare that portions of Scripture quoted earlier refer to unbelievers only? A person can not discern God’s intent without submitting to the Teacher, to our Counselor, to the Holy Spirit. All man’s suppositions are foolish without revelation from the Spirit. The Word of God shows us the truth in a clear and definite way. We have to eat what God has given us, whether it is sweet or bitter. When people hear about grace, they are happy; when they hear about judgment, they are unhappy. The Word our Father has given us is balanced in its nutrition. Grace; discipline, judgment, mercy, and holiness, all is needed. His entire Word edifies and sanctifies us.

The fable of the eagle and the cat begins with an innocent invitation. The eagle said to the cat, “Come with Me and see heaven. It is really great. It has much more expanse and unending joy. Would you like Me to take you up above to be with Me?” The cat said, “No, I do not care to go there.” When the eagle asked why not, the cat said, “There are no mice in the sky. If there were mice there, I would go. But since there aren’t, I won’t.” Many people are like the cat and think that the visible world is all there is. They refuse the gift of faith to believe in the God of all creation. The offer extended is rejected. Hard headed, they sleep in a comfort that rejects a thought of eternity.

Heaven is a holy place and God invites all to “Come and see.” God wants to see all His children in heaven. It is true that the Lord Jesus did His part to save us, but if we do not allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, God will chastise us until we submit, repent, and obey. We can not receive the benefit of His glorious offer unless we surrender. If the church only preaches grace without the penalty for sin, God’s children suffer. When His Jesus returns, those who refuse His offee will suffer eternally. We must choose to be set apart and marked in Him. Submit to the Holy deposit within you. Pray before you arise from bed; Holy Spirit come upon me with Your power, give me wisdom and strength to meet the demands of today.

The living Word of God will have His way in all who accept His full counsel. We must not just speak the words that everyone would like to hear. We are not Matthew, Mark, or Paul. We did not write the book of Hebrews or Revelation. If we were the writers, we would change things. But God has spoken His Word and determined that they are not to be changed. When you read the Bible, read what God has said. Do not consider what man has said. Only take care to heed what God has plainly said.
