Forgive Me Please

Asking for forgiveness is an important aspect of building trust in God’s ways. It is our act of  humble obedience. Apologizing and asking for forgiveness mends the often distant connection we have with God. Acknowledging our mistakes provides us with emotional relief. God wipes away any guilt or shame as our Father quickly forgives those who confess their sins. Matthew 3:8 “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.” A good tree drips with juicy fruit for all to see and partake of.

When we surrender our pride and admit we are wrong, our submission to the Holy Spirit illuminates us with greater grace. Gazing in the mirror,  we examine our hearts and motives, and we gain clarity of our need to be forgiven. We seek wisdom from God to understand that our stubborn ways affect others and our relationship with God. Matthew 7:16 “By their fruit you will recognize them.” The FRUIT of the Spirit impresses upon us to value the feelings of others and recognize the impact of our attitudes and behavior. Galatians 5:22-23 “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.” All Glory to God for His Ways are perfect!

How often do we forgive others?

The Word of God commands that we move past any offensive incident with a contrite heart. A “contrite heart” refers to a state of being that embodies deep remorse or penitence for wrongdoing. It is often associated with feelings of genuine sorrow for one’s sins or mistakes, coupled with a sincere desire to seek forgiveness and make amends. Contrite implies humility, and recognition of one’s faults, and a real commitment to change. It takes courage to admit wrongdoing and ask for forgiveness, and by our willing obedience, our very  character and integrity are strengthened. God values our humility to seek  forgiveness. He blesses us with His peace, renewed joy and massive favor as we forgive as we have been forgiven. Thank You Jesus for all You have forgiven!
