Faith comes by…

photostudio_1515167449549We have faith that the sun will rise, that the light will go on when we flip the switch, and that the ocean will roar. Where did our weak or strong faith come from? Faith comes by hearing – by the hearing of what? The nightly world news? NO, NO, NO – faith comes by the hearing of God’s living and active Word! A divine impartation of hope leaps up to grab what God is saying as we hear His Word spoken. Come and listen to the ongoing miracles that Jesus is performing today all around the globe! Faith is a favorable expectation of God’s consistent good! Can we at times rely on the faith of others when ours is weak or bleak? “Be NOT afraid, only believe!” Jesus said that to a mother of a dead child, and Jesus is the Author of Faith! The gift of faith comes from God, it is a blessing, a fruit of the Holy Spirit. The truth is that we possess a supernatural faith, a faith that knows we are never alone as we have been told that the person of the Holy Spirit dwells within us…forever! According to what is written in the holy word of God John 14:16-17 “ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—  the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” IMPORTANT NOTE: The Holy Spirit is always referred to as a he in scripture.  The Holy Spirit is a person, not a power!  He resides within us, He is never apart from us. The very Spirit of truth is your personal advocate, teacher, and friend and He knows your name, and your every need. Thanksgiving and Praise to God for He has placed our names in the Book of Life – eternal in His Holy Presence!  AMEN26167333_1177835325681059_385730017339767063_n

Heavenly things are discerned by the faith that the Holy Spirit imparts, NOT the opinions or commentary of man. John 3:3-13 “Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”  “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. growing-in-faith“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?  Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.  I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?”   Acts 1:3-5 “After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.  On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift (the Holy Spirit) my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” — 01d3985ebd0e9d72c39b025bfc452d7dNow hear this: 1 Corinthians 12:7-13 “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,  to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.  All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.” May you be blessed with supernatural clarity by the reading of God’s word, and understand that the person of the Holy Spirit will never leave you or forsake you. He gives gifts as He desires so do not strive to imitate other saints.  He distributes gifts upon His people in the church as He wills. Speaking in tongues is not the sign of salvation but a sign.  Therefore, the fruit of the indwelling Spirit of God as listed in Gal. 5:22-23 is the sign of salvation. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” REJOICE always even when things don’t go your way, when things contradict what you have always believed! CLAIM the reality in Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

The 3,000-year-old Beka weight shown above was unearthed in 2018. It is inscribed with ancient Hebrew, and was likely used in the First Temple, anchoring once again, the deep historical connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem.  “Each one who is numbered in the census shall give this: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary, half a shekel as an offering to the Lord. (Ex 30:13) – Bottom line: Our FAITH is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit, a proof that a new believer has received the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is the Word of God, and He delivered the promised Holy Spirit when we accepted Jesus as our Saviour. The Holy Spirit enables us to understand what God wants us to comprehend in His living Word.  He reveals the mystery and meaning of holy scriptures. Surrender all preconceived beliefs and get blessed by His ever Present help, His comfort, His superior understanding, His direction, and His timing – as it is always the perfect will of God.  Attend church and be refreshed by the hearing of the Word, and by the tales of His saints for what our faithful Lord Jesus 1b1fc2ac75154dbf7ce52c9addd366ac--tobymac-speak-life-bible-quoteshas accomplished in and through those who BELIEVE! Come and experience an explosion of faith within. “Lord forgive me for my unbelief, for avoiding You, for not calling on You, and for doubting Your love for me. Jesus I now ask that You speak to my heart and increase the faith that You have given me!” In Jesus name, AMEN!!!! – “God says He wants to make you something more than your human excellence can ever be. He wants to love you into wholeness. We do NOT have to worry about being perfect because the perfection of Christ is manifested by His love flowing through us.” Stormie Omartian  – Hebrews 2:1-4 “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.  For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.” WOW there is more in Hebrews 9: 14-“How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!  For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.” FAITH IN ACTION: Read out loud these scriptures: all of Hebrews chapter 11 —2 Tim 4:7—, Heb 12:2—, 2 Corin 4:13—, Heb 11:1—, Rom 10:14 — John 1:1-21. Our faith is increased by hearing the Truth, and by hearing the testimonies of others.

  1. Classic Billy Graham ““For as [man] thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

The word heart is used in different ways all the way through the Scriptures. I want you to see tonight the meaning of the word heart from the Biblical point of view.

The Bible says that “Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). When God looks at a man, He doesn’t look to see the color of his skin. He doesn’t look to see the kind of clothes he wears. Nor does He consider his social position. The Bible says that God looks upon the heart to see what you are on the inside—the thoughts, motives and intents of the heart.

The question I want to ask every one of you tonight is this: Is your heart right with God? And if it’s not right, before you leave here tonight I hope you’ll allow God to make it right.

The Bible indicates a great deal about the condition of the average person’s heart. In Proverbs 6:18, the Bible speaks of a “heart that deviseth wicked imaginations.” In other words, the Bible says that your heart is full of evil imaginations. And the Bible says, in Jeremiah 17:9, that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Your heart is deceitful. You can’t trust it, if you’re outside of Jesus Christ.”
