We welcome our family and friends to share our little slice of paradise! We so enjoy having company over for a barbecue, or just a cup of coffee over laughter. Country living at its finest includes celebrating the talents of our neighbors. “Come on over and tell us about your lastest adventure!”
Rafael Ibarra and his crew began working on our casa March 17, 2020. Because of the local laws enforced for the pandemic, work stopped for 30 days. Braulio, the painter, Alejandro the welder, Antonio and his sons Andres, and Cesar all stepped up the pace to finish in time for Michael’s homecoming on May 21, 2020. Final touches done on June 27, 2020 by a local welder named Nicolas who painted the rain canal and installed a shelf for our porch bug light. COVID cases are multiplying at lakeside so we can now “shelter in place” gladly with more space to share “up on the Red Roof” and outside in our new covered BBQ area. This amazing crew helped capture and return our dog Rags a few time. The crew nicknamed Rags “Chopo” a name that fits his break free personality! Click > to view all pics
Change occurs in nature annually, and any Hoyle Hacienda changes occur as we shift plants around and SHELTER IN PLACE in our lovely paradise. Mike went to Calif to visit his mom on March 10 and returned on May 21 – During the Pandemic of 2020, the construction crew kept returning as they could to finish in time for Mike’s return – Alejandro designed a custom double screen door with large screened windows and an escape hatch for “Chopo”.
Santiago from the Vivero near the Chapala Train Station delivered mulch, plants and succulents for the roof top quarantine quarters of Michael when he gets home. Halleluiah!
Vivero Care in Mexico Mexican gardens and Mexican color schemes for ideas. Plants that grow in Jalisco. Less lawn, less maintenance for worms and scorpions. Our casa construction began in 2014 and it became the Hoyle Hacienda on January 26, 2017. A waterfall was added in May of 2017 and our carport was extended in August 2017. A mirador was installed on our roof in May 2018. In March 2020 we agreed to enclose front porch to prevent birds from nesting, reduce mosquito bites and defend against scorpions entering our casa. With extended living space in our front yard, we enjoy the sound of the waterfall and birds. Natural music for the soul! We can now enjoy our morning coffee and BBQ under our covered patio. Rags loves the extra shady spots and protection during the rain.
