Royal Privilege

As our heavenly Father’s Kings kids, we are all privileged to bear the name of Christ, and to represent the House of God as His servants. Jesus gave us His name so that we could represent the House of God, His Kingdom, His Way, His purpose, His Church, for His glory. Joshua led the people of God with an unfaltering faith in His power. Under God’s command, victory after victory occured until the troops felt “We got this!” The battle at AI was their only defeat. Why? Because there was sin in the camp. At Jericho, according to God’s will and command, “Don’t make an alliance with these people.” Avoid being contaminated by their unholy ways and traditions. At Jericho, Joshua’s troops obeyed God’s full command. There were zero survivors except Rahab and family.

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” At the end of Joshua’s life we learn the impact of disobedience. Joshua 18:2 “There were still 7 Israelite tribes who had not yet received their inheritance.” Why?  Read Joshua 21:43,45 The Lord gave Israel all the land He had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. Joshua 22:5 “Be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to Him, to keep His commands, to hold fast to Him and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Joshua 23:1-16 After a long time had passed and the Lord had given Israel rest from all their enemies around them, Joshua, by then a very old man, he
summoned all Israel—their elders, leaders, judges and officials—and said to them: “I am very old. You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the Lord your God who FOUGHT for you. “Be very strong; be careful to OBEY all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left. Do NOT ASSOCIATE with these nations that remain among you; do NOT invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must NOT serve them or bow down to them. But you are to HOLD FAST to the Lord your God, as you have until now. So be very careful to love the Lord your God. If you VIOLATE the COVENANT of the LORD your God, which HE commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the Lord’s ANGER will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land HE has given you.”
