Yield to God

We yield gladly because we are unable, but God’s Holy Spirit is able to deliver us from our stumbling to present us faultless at the throne of grace. Colossians 3:1-4 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things ABOVE, where CHRIST is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your MINDS on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, APPEARS, then you also will appear with HIM in glory.”

Applying the Word of God. Romans 6:12-18 “Therefore do not LET (allow) sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do NOT OFFER any part of your self to SIN as an instrument of wickedness, but rather OFFER your selves to GOD as those who HAVE BEEN brought from death to LIFE; and OFFER every part of yourself (body, mind, spirit) to HIM as an instrument of righteousness.” Like Paul, do we beat our body into submission? Do we moment by moment yield, or deny ourselves, our hunger, our fleshly desires to God? Who is our Master in every choice we make? To eat that? To do that? To say that? “For SIN shall NO LONGER longer be your MASTER, because you are NOT under the law, but under GRACE. What then? Shall we SIN because we are NOT under the law but under GRACE?” Grace Abounds

“By no means! Don’t you KNOW that when you OFFER yourselves (body, mind, spirit) to someone as obedient slaves, you are SLAVES of the one YOU OBEY” — wisely, we choose who we serve. Am I a slave to SIN, which LEADS to DEATH, or a slave to OBEDIENCE, which leads to righteousness? — “But THANKS be to GOD that, (in my old sin nature) though I used to be a slave to sin, by His grace, I have COME to OBEY from my HEART the PATTERN of TEACHING that has now CLAIMED my steadfast allegiance. (obedience) I HAVE BEEN SET FREE from SIN and have BECOME God’s slave to righteousness.” So as a mature follower of Jesus, when tempted, I turn to my MASTER, my Lord, and I YIELD to the SPIRIT of GOD who abides, who resides in me. AMEN

Our Father calls us to yield to His constant presence. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” As we yield to God, our worries become worship of the Almighty. Psalm 1:2-3 “But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by STREAMS of WATER, which YIELDS its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” We wisely yield to the Holy Spirit, and His stream of wisdom. Psalm 119:15 “I will meditate on Your precepts and consider Your ways.” Our Father tells us how to think like Jesus. Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Yes, Lord, we capture every thought and make it align with God’s superior ways. God’s grace does not fail, but we are tempted to rely on our own understanding, and not His flowing grace. If we fail to yield, we will miss the mark. A deep root of bitterness springs up in the hearts of those who choose not to forgive an offense. Jesus walked among us in humility, and full of grace. He now walks with us as the Holy Spirit. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, He shines through us with the delight and glory of God. James 4:6-7 But God gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” The Holy Spirit enables us to look through God’s eyes to perceive truth and shatter any scheme of evil. We walk humbly in His mercy with gentleness, yet full of authority. James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” When others come face to face with the Truth abiding in us, knees quake as demons scatter. It is by His mercy that we live and breathe. The Truth that now abides in us is the joy of the Lord. We live without the stain of sin, or the pride of rebellion, because we gladly yield to our abiding Savior. Gift of God

Yielding to His grace is a wise choice. Ephesians 2:8-10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Our Father knows that our dependence must remain on His grace, so He had these words recorded for us to cherish. 2 Peter 3:17-18 “Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But GROW in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. To HIM be glory both now and forever! Amen.” I Spy a Hallelujah

What may we expect from being led by the Spirit of God? Why was it that God made two covenants, not one and not three? In the first covenant, MAN was to PROVE what he COULD DO, and mankind failed to keep the laws of God. In the second, GOD would show what HE could do through those who yield to His grace. The old testament times are recorded as lessons of our need of a Savior. Jesus came in the Father’s time to fulfill divine prophecy. The book of Wisdom tells us to get understanding. Wisely the faithful seek to be filled by the Spirit of God. Wait for it, pray for it, just as Jesus instructed at Pentecost. As we humbly identify as woeful sinners, we then admit that we need Jesus. Once we were foolishly proud, full of ignorance and weakness. As God’s adopted, anointed child, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Our initial transition from the elementary stage of faith — grows gradually as we yield and embrace God’s living Word. We who yet stumble even after all our own best ‘solo efforts’, we surrender all. We confess the sin of a life lived by its own understanding. We see and believe in the life which scripture holds out. We yield to He who resides within. To He who is greater than all of mankind. We cease to strive and rely on our intellectual power. Wisely we trust Jesus fully.

Let the Spirit be loosed in your inner man.

Colossians 3:5-10 “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” My God is an all consuming fire. And He filled me with the Holy Spirit, and He teaches me all things. Our faith is a gift from God and He gave us a full level of His Spirit and His faith. Death did not pass over me because of the intensity of my faith, but death was defeated by the blood of JESUS WHO SAVED ME FROM THE PIT. We are all saved by the OBJECT of our faith. Our full faith in Jesus. As I go, as I continue to breathe, I shall walk YIELDED in faith to Jesus, the author of my souls existence. In reverent GRATITUDE for what He has done. I love Jesus and His grace never fails.

Faith is blind trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages believers to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Faith and Righteousness in Romans 1:17, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Our faith is essential for a right relationship with God. The Importance of faith in our salvation, Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through FAITH, and that NOT of yourselves; it is the GIFT of GOD, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Abraham did NOT receive a written word, only a spoken word. His faith was counted as righteousness in Genesis 15:6. The “Faith Hall of Fame” in Hebrews 11 lists many biblical figures who exemplified faith in God amidst challenges. Our Faith in God requires us to step out in action. James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” Our genuine faith manifests in our willing action as we trust in the Holy Spirit to guide us. The need to persevere in faith is recorded in Hebrews 12:1-2. God encourages believers to “run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.” Doubt and struggle are real and to maintain faith is not always easy. Jesus tells us, Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does NOT DOUBT in their heart but BELIEVES that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” Thomas doubted the resurrection of Christ until he saw Jesus (John 20:24-29), this shows us that faith can grow even through doubts.
