Living way out in the country, it is quiet enough to hear crickets yawning as it is dawning. Rising before the moon went East of Eden, today I recorded my thoughts. God is great and the gate is narrow that leads to His glory!   I dared glance at the clock and my eyes were shocked to read 3:30 a.m.  I heard the wind blowing the palm trees, so I slapped the sliding window in the bathroom shut.  Why am I fully awake at this hour? My body pleads “go back under the covers!”  My Creator calls, and obediently, I grab my cell and read my Bible app. God knows me, my thoughts, my ways and He is glad to see me rise to meet with Him, alone. It is dark outside and it is 48F in San Nicolas de Ibarra. I heat up the water and squeeze a fresh lemon into a tall mug.   After ~ more than 2,970 consecutive days waking up in Mexico,  I’ve sort of got it figured out.  Trust in the Lord and He will lead you which way to go.  A full moon is slowly fading outside as I flip open my devotional. My eyes lock on these words. “Wait patiently with Me while I bless you. Do not rush into My Presence with time-consciousness gnawing at your mind. I dwell in the timelessness; I am, I was, I will always be.”  Though you are a time-bound beautifully created masterpiece, seek to meet Me where I dwell for it is always the best time spent in your day. Focus on My Presence and I will bless you and keep you, and make My face shine upon you graciously, giving you Peace.” Only an imbecile would jump back under the covers! Jesus is calling my tiny brain to arise and worship the One who blew breath into my nostrils. Eagerly I read as He reveals His love and plans for me. “I am the Alpha and the Omega” says the Lord God, ‘Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8 – Our God is Mighty to be praised. “Remember Your word to Your servant, for You have given me hope.” Psalm 119:49

We are challenged by our Father to store up treasures in heaven, and to stash holy, God breathed Scripture in our hearts. These are my memory verses for the first quarter of 2022. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rm 10:17 “When He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13 “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask for whatever you want, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through Him and apart from Him not one thing was created.” John 1:1-3 “God said ‘Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness.” Genesis 1:26. “But to all who did receive Him (Jesus) He gave them the right to be called children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, or of the will of the flesh, or the will of man, but of God. The Word became flesh and took up residence among us.” John 1:12-14 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Tim 3:16 and Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
