I heard of a conversation ‘The Queen’ held with an acquaintance in which Elizabeth stated: “I wish Jesus would come back in my lifetime.” Asked why, she reportedly replied: “Because I would place my crown at His feet.” 🌺 On the day Elizabeth was crowned the Queen of England she vowed “I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service.” Queen Elizabeth II – The Queen also shared the wisdom she collected after 70 years as Queen….

“It is NOT the new inventions that make life difficult, the trouble is caused by the unthinking people who carelessly throw away ageless ideals as if they were old and worn out machinery,” The Queen warned adding that such people “would have religion thrown aside, morality in personal and public life made meaningless, honesty counted as foolishness and self-interest set up in place of self-restraint.”

We watched “The Crown” on September 8, 2022 the day The Queen took her last breath. The series reminded me of the great sacrifices Elizabeth made to serve the people, above her personal interests. Her mother and sister expressed their dislikes frequently about her “queening” as her husband mocked the royal ways of holding traditions.
