Competent not Compared

It is easy to envy, or compare myself to others. For instance my comfort colors, antiques, grandma cozy is what it is. I actually cringe to admit that I have compared my body size to the delicately petite — and my style of decorating to the modern clean lines of homes simply adorned without my clutter…and dare I say it? I envied! Scripture warns us firmly about the trap of “Comparison” —-our personal style, personality, body size and gifts are unique and we are wise to be content with who we are. The Deceiver is slippery in his ways to cause us to stumble and envy. Rivalry is a major divisive tool of Satan. It is liberating to simply REJOICE in our differences, and celebrate how the family of God has such amazing diversity. Ask for discernment while taking a personal inventory. Use the sword of Truth to slay Satan and any of his crafty schemes and lies. “He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

God is good all the time, and He will show favor on whom He chooses. In the end, whatever was intended to harm us, our Father uses to bless us. The blessing often comes when we lean more on Him, than on ourselves. Our Father laid out the harm of sibling rivalry in the true stories about Rachel and Leah. Joseph and his brothers, and among the disciples. Squabbling like children the disciples asked Jesus “who is the greatest?” The Master led by example, Jesus washed their feet and demonstrated that He came to serve. Spiritual gifts and abilities are all necessary and distributed according to the Holy Spirit. All of us together represent the awesome body of Christ. The church in Galatia was warned not to COMPARE. Galatians 6:4-6. Our Father is glorified when we are content with who we are. When we humble ourselves and simply do that which we were called to do. We are given words to speak and we are commended for being the gardner in God’s vast harvest field. Life is full of different seasons. We excel for a time, then the season changes and we take a back seat. An excellent REMINDER to NOT compare, but be content as we are.

2 Corinthians 4:1-9 “Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

“I ________(shared the hope of Jesus) I planted the seed in your hearts, and __________(who encouraged you?) someone watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:6-7

Romans 15:13-14 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another.” ❤️ COMPETENCE comes from the Holy Spirit. The HOPE in us overflows because we cannot contain it. As the Holy Spirit overflows the hope and joy in us, His words flow out to water as God grows the seed.  Does my cup overflow with opinions, worry, or with truth and my HOPE in Jesus? We are His Ambassadors and we shine His light.  “God has chosen to make known among ‘our neighbors’ the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Col 1:27 ❤️ We are fully equipped as the temple of the Holy Spirit, overflowing with goodness.  The Holy Spirit fills us with knowledge and He equips us to do what He asks.  ❤️ 1 Corin 3:7 “What’s important is that God makes it grow.” AMEN

God’s Truth Project ❤️ “The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light, and there was light.” Genesis 1 ❤️ Father, Son, Holy Spirit a relationship of love, submission and respect. We see unity and honor for each member of our Triune God.  “The Father and I are One” From the beginning the Alpha and Omega will be unified in Spirit throughout eternity.  The perfect model for family, church, and society. God claimed all creation as good 7 times, then He said “It is not good for man to be alone” ❤️ Husband, wife, child. ❤️ Christ-Head of Church, Pastor,  the Body. ❤️ Nation, Leader, People. ❤️ The design of God is that we live in unity, submit to our leaders, love and value one another as Christ loves His church. We were created in His image, and for eternity, our Father designed us to be unified in community.  Jesus submitted to the Father, and the Holy Spirit glorifies the Son.  Evil attacks family, society and the church because it was made in God’s image.

The attacks on the church came from within first. Constantine and his corrupted bishops changed God’s Word. Fables were promoted over Truth. WHY did Jesus come? “I came to testify to the Truth” To which Pilate replied “Truth, what is truth?” Young king Josiah found Truth hidden in the temple and destroyed the abominable idols. The Deceiver, the Prince of the air, the ruler of planet earth has duped the family, the nations and many churches. A comment on social media was a disagreement on interpretation of certain scriptures. “If you believe the rapture happens on the Day of the Lord, then you are deceived.” ??? 1 Thess 5:9 says “we are not appointed to wrath.” 😳 1 Thess 5:2 clearly says “the Day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night” The reply “This is of Satan because my pastor said..?? God is not confused, His Word says what He literally means. The deceit is in the minds of leaders, pastors, and flocks of peeps that have turned off the Holy Spirit. The blind are leading the blind, and they refuse to hear or recognize the Truth. Just like the Pharisees were blind and stiff necked when they shouted “Crucify Him”. It is not just humanistic folks, but church going, Bible reading believers who are listening to the voice of a twisted commentary and NOT the Holy Spirit. Placing faith in the wisdom of man over our Teacher, the Holy Spirit—dishonors our Triune God— if we freely choose to believe the nonsense of man.

“Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.  Later Simon and the others went out to find him.  When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.” But Jesus replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.” So He traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.” Mark 1:35 We were chosen and fully equipped for His purpose and glory.

  1. “We are equipped and ready to speak the truth, and tell the lost, the hurting, the confused about Jesus. We trust that the Holy Spirit will give us words and courage.” AMEN.

John Alexander Dowie, in the 1800’s along with CH Spurgeon– both acted on their anointing. Dowie healed the sick, then puffed up with pride, dressed in robes which robbed God of His glory. 🔥 Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.” — Citizens of this world are still under the power of the devil. Believers are , all anointed with a full measure of the Holy Spirit. It is up to each baptized Christian to surrender to His authority and speak Truth and allow Him to do His work, to convict, draw, heal, transform, and grow the seed. Our part is toTrust, Obey and have faith in the One who changes hearts. AMEN ❤️ Taking inventory at regular intervals, we confess any pride, so God alone is glorified.
