Know Goodness

What person would not want to walk in the Goodness, the Favor and the Power of God? The only reliable Source of Truth that is NOT covered on any news station is the Holy Spirit. By invitation only, as we request a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit, He will supernaturally invade your soul with purpose and passion. Faith is trusting Who we cannot see, even as we know that He is right here, never departing from those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Have you ever desired to have your soul set on fire with the power of God? Has your plug in cord been dangling because you do not know how to connect? “Be still and know that I am God.” We all have the FREEDOM of choice to plug into the Source of all good! Understand that the world news is influenced by the Prince of the air, and our Father gave us the freedom to choose who we listen to. Be still, and just ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. God Almighty has a plan for you. The Spirit of God will teach you all you need to know. With the inquiring mind God gave you, read the Bible. Habakkuk was a guy who dared to ask questions. Just like many bewildered folks today, Habakkuk could not reconcile his faith in a righteous God who allowed bad things to happen. Living by faith is a challenge for all of us. This prophet articulated humanities frustration with a God who does act as quickly as we think He should. This seems to be a common complaint today. God answered Habakkuk with a task. “For revelation awaits an appointed time, it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it may linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:2 Waiting ripens the fruit of the Spirit. Patiently wait as God’s Word will not prove false. After your first personal encounter, you will be changed and given moment by moment enriched vision and hope for your future.

Hungry for more? “For our battle is NOT against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.” Eph 6:10 Be strengthened by the Lord and listen with renewed HOPE in our victory. The Holy Spirit reveals Gods plans and we stay alert praying at all times in the Spirit. Our struggle with evil and with sin is do deep that our Father not only gave His Son as a sacrifice to atone for our sins, He unzipped us and dove inside us by His Spirit. How humbling! Our sin renders us unable, on our own. Sin robs us of our most precious relationship. It kidnaps our desires and distorts our thoughts. Sin controls our tongues and it will rule our behavior. So as a child of God, surrender to the Holy Spirit, and His power. Get to know Him. Make Him your best, most world-renowned, famous, fascinating friend. At first, we become familiar with Who the Holy Spirit is, and then we wisely seek Him more frequently. “Intimacy with the Holy Spirit is contingent on our obedience to His nudge — to trust Him, which is to walk in FAITH while trusting God. Like Moses, Enoch, Noah, Peter, and nowadays, ordinary me and you. A heart touched by God, is a soul redeemed, a life transformed, is a mind renewed by the entrance of the Holy Spirit.

Jeremiah said “When your words came, I ate them.” 15:16 What did Jeremiah mean? He sunk his teeth into the Word, he chewed, digested, and by the Holy Spirit’s help, the Word assimilated into his spirit. By wrestling with God, questioning Him, and surrendering to Him because Jeremiah concluded that he could do nothing worthy without God. This ancient prayer sums up a humble hearts submission. Why has God chosen to touch my heart?

Why am I to be changed through God’s touch? I know I need change; I admit that I need to look more like my Savior and less like me. Lord, I invite Thy Spirit, which is within the living Word, to come in and to change my desires and transform me. The only requirement is humble submission. “Good and upright is the Lord, He instructs sinners in His ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.” Psalm 25:8-9 Gently, with His persistent nudging, the Holy Spirit teaches, guides and confirms “This is the Way, walk in it.” In our obedience we befriend the Spirit of God. What benefit comes to a volunteer who waters the Camels? We have seen the good, the bad and the ugly inside the church. We are a hurt people who got touched by the Holy Spirit and we choose to humble ourselves and forgive all those who have wounded us, in the church and in our families. A great sermon that includes a lesson from Laban.

We tend to over compensate with SACRIFICE, where we LACK in OBEDIENCE to the frequent nudges of the Holy Spirit. Are we servants of the Lord, or are we servants according to what we FEEL comfortable in doing? Have you felt His nudge to 1) Walk away from that debate! 2) Turn away from that old behavior or attitude. 3) Speak to that person in front of you now! 4) Begin to serve in your community now. 5) Hold your tongue, say nothing, and I will give you words to speak. 6) Forgive them. This sermon expands on Genesis 24:1 as an example of going deeper with the Holy Spirit.

First of all the Holy Spirit is the Ruler, He manages all the resources of heaven. He has the power, He has anointed you to set the captives free. Secondly, the Holy Spirit was sent to bring Jesus a spotless Bride. The Holy Spirit promotes Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit does not seek attention, His focused purpose is that mankind glorifies Jesus through willing obedience. By fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit our fascination with Jesus Christ increases. The Holy Spirit communes with us even though He knows we are capable of doing stupid things. He leads us into all truth. The Holy Spirit makes us better than who we have always been. Volunteer to water the camels, choose to live in revival and exit the familiar. God has more for His obedient servants and it is GOOD.

  1. “If ours is an examined faith, we should be unafraid to doubt… There is no believing without some doubting, and believing is all the stronger for understanding and resolving doubt.” Os Guinness

“If we say we are without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” Our Father desires that we ask questions, and the Holy Spirit is ever with us to speak truth, and to affirm in our spirit “this is the way, walk in it”

We are a spirit, and for a designated time, we occupy a body, with a mind of its own. Our spirit (soul) and mind are both invisible. The brain is not the mind. The brain is a physical thing that has been dissected in an autopsy. We are called to examine the thoughts that stream through our mind with the intent to capture, arrest, and evict all thoughts that do not honor God, or serve us. Our faith in God builds upon our personal experience with the Holy Spirit, who teaches, guides, comforts and convicts us.
