CH SPURGEON

The true story about a desperate 17 year old youth. A kid miserable in the wilderness gets one simple word from God.  “Look to Me.” A person who is seeking a solution to emptiness does not need to possess a great education, anyone can  simply look. Until that bitterly cold Sunday, young Spurgeon saw God as a hard task Master.  “All you need to do is look and live.” AMEN

“Baptism loosed my tongue, and from that day, I have never ceased to speak of the freedom in Christ.” Watching again and again to the people’s preacher. Keep it simple.

The prayers of Jesus swam freely

Charles spoke his first sermon near Cambridge at age 17.  “God Himself stood by me and gave me a boldness.” There is none better than Jesus. “Look to Him and be saved. The prince and the pauper can look.” Allow Jesus to become your precious Savior. Psalm 37 “Delight yourself in the Lord.”

“During my time at Water Beach, I was blessed. My younger brother became my Barnabas.” Charles left his comfort zone and obediently moved to London.  Queen Victoria sat on the throne of England as thousands of orphans froze in the cold. On Dec 18, 1857, he spoke to a nearly empty church. “Every perfect gift comes from above. The key is in chasing the Lord, not your desires.” Psalm 37  ❤️ Pray for the one who is to become your spouse.

Ahhh, to find a place alone with God, a secret place of prayer. After busy days of healing mobs, Jesus took a rest, then rose before sunrise and crept away quietly. In the stillness of dark, He entered a sheltered place, a concealed hide away. Apart from a public ear or witness, He repeatedly delighted to communicate with His Father in private. By His example and Word, our prayers to God are precious and are best reserved for times alone. Jesus purposefully carved out His silent sanctuaries, not in a building, but under the heavens, outside alone. CH Spurgeon expands eloquently on Mark 1:35 and on the prayer life of Jesus. February 14, 1884.

The Wisdom in Private prayer

All tongues were fluent, there was no need to exaggerate. It was a heavenly day, and flocks of people lept and rejoiced on their roof tops, shouting praises to God. After His sermon inside the Synagogue, Jesus held an inquiry meeting in the street. No assembly room could accommodate the growing throng. Jesus captivated their hearts as He said, “Look to Me,” and I will give you rest, healing, and eternal life. Crowds of persons pressed into Him, confessing what the Lord had done. One might be content to die after being a partaker to such a transforming moment in time. Our extraordinary second is kept alive with His words echoing through us and out into all our surrounding villages. Only Jesus can fully satisfy the hole in the soul’s of mankind.

The power of  Jesus speaking into the hearts of man still occurs as the Holy Bible is read. Heaven, Earth, and Hell were all affected by the eternal Words Jesus spoke. His pure, purposed, and prophesied teachings opened the mystery of God’s Kingdom. Our redeeming King walked among thousands and healed the lame, restored the spiritual sight to the blind and cast out demons. All lips still eloquently remember the divine day that Jesus transformed our heart forever.  Unschooled peasants and even children can recite their personal encounters. The day that heaven sent hands of mercy into our lives will never be forgotten, as we were changed, never to be the same. Such grand excitement over our personal transformation is more valuable than rubies. This is why we continue to share the Truth that swells within us. God so loved the world, and everyone in it, that God sent Jesus to redeem all who trust in Him, and pull us out of the pit.

The Master’s prayers must have been an honest outpouring of love to His Father.  A sweet time to speak His thanksgiving for our Father’s will being done. A perfect time to seek direction and request favor for His beloved friends. ❤️ Nothing hallow or rehearsed, His words streamed directly from the joy and anguish He experienced.  As Jesus separated Himself from the fray of the day and noise — to reconnect to His Divine Source and pray, as He did so regularly — must we not also retire from our current projects to pray as He did? Do NOT be deceived to think that prayer does not work because you asked and did not immediately receive. Choose to Talk to God

Spurgeon prayed as he toiled over each word he preached or wrote. Father, it is my desire to honor You, so I ask that You use my words to draw hearts to thee. AMEN ❤️

  1. Today many Churches are polluted with false teaching. Pray for discernment. Many pulpits preach what itching ears want to hear. The Whole Truth is avoided so that the pews and baskets remain full. A herd of goats have mixed in with His sheep. The goats butte heads in demand of entitlement, abundance and privilege. The holy “text” is often diluted by a haughty choice to neglect Gods stern and steadfast, unchanging warnings. The elitist attitude is that God in fact will not reject our human right to take initiative and do things our way. The extraordinary promises of God have been manipulated to attract those who seek an all-inclusive God who offers ALL a 24/7 buffet of all pleasures. Indeed the words of Jeremiah 6:13. The narrative “peace, peace” was broadcast, even though there was no peace. We are spiritually blind if we think that God is love so our actions have no eternal consequence. We can rely on all His Promises as His full Counsel will be executed. A personal COURSE CORRECTION maybe needed.
