Full Disclosure

Jesus gives His full disclosure

1. The Christ Means “the Anointed One” or the “Messiah” This title affirms Jesus as the one chosen by God to fulfill the prophecies of the Hebrew Scriptures.

2. The Lord is His title that denotes authority and His divinity.   Jesus as the sovereign Ruler over heaven and earth.

3. The Son of God is Who Jesus is. In His unique relationship with God the Father, signifying His divinity and pre-existence.

4. The Son of Man is the title that Jesus used frequently. He came in human form to identify with humanity, and it also reflects His role in prophecy. Daniel 7:13-14.

5. The Savior of the world Who provides salvation by delivering humanity from sin and spiritual death.

6. The Redeemer is the One Who paid the price to redeem us from sin by His blood, death and miraculous resurrection.

7. The Lamb of God is the title that points to His humble nature.  His role as the ultimate sacrifice for sin John 1:29

8. The King of kings gives Jesus the supreme authority over all rulers Rev 19:16

9. The Alpha and Omega says that Jesus is the beginning and the end. Rev 22:13, tells of His eternal nature and that He is above and beyond all time.

10. The Good Shepherd is how He cares for His flock, the sheep. He guides, protects, and provides for His followers. John 10:11

11. The Light of the World is how He came to pierce and destroy the dark spiritual blindness. He spoke Truth to banish spiritual darkness. John 8:12

12. The Way, the Truth, and the Life is His role as the sole path to God and the embodiment of truth. John 14:6

13. The title Immanuel means “God with us,” As God desired to have relationship with us, He sent His Son as the divine presence among humanity. Matthew 1:23

14. As The Word  Jesus is referred to as “the Word” (Logos), emphasizing His pre-existence and role in creation.

Jesus uses the phrase “I AM” to identify Himself as God.

John 8:58 Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I AM.” This statement connects Jesus to the divine name and asserts His preexistence.
 
John 10:11 Jesus declares, “I am the good shepherd,” indicating His role as a protector and guide for His followers.

John 14:6 Jesus states, “I am the way and the truth and the life,” affirming His unique position as the source of salvation.

The title “I AM” thus serves as Who Jesus is and was and always will be.  In the Old and New Testament we come to believe God’s given identity, encompassing His essence as the eternal being.
