Heart to Heart

4718678-Solomon-Quote-Give-me-the-gift-of-a-listening-heartHis Word is a gift from the heart of God to our heart. Our Creator asks us to harken, to obey, to understand Who God is, by all of what His Word says He is. “But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” Matthew 16:15 Science says that the heart has a brain and that it was developed before the hamburger in our heads. The wisest man known to have ever lived asked God for a discerning heart, a heart that hears and chooses wisely. Our Father often speaks in a tiny whisper, and His sheep know His voice. We are all guilty of tuning out what we do not wish to hear. God insists that we hear His voice.  If we switch our hearing to our own thoughts, we miss what the Holy Spirit is saying. God encourages us to listen more and speak less…. “Listen carefully to what I say; let my words ring in your ears.” Job 13:7 — “Don’t you know Me… even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” John 14:9 Oh God, give me a willing heart to hear what the Spirit reveals. Give me spiritual ears to hear …that I may know the Truth, the Way, and the Life.  getty_534682529_135726

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” Deut 29:29 – Through history God dispensed His will in specific ways to the human race. “Moses if thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee which I’ve brought upon the Egyptians for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”  God requires His people to diligently hearken (hear) His voice. The book of Romans is brilliantly summarized by Pastor Jack.  As we share the Roman road to salvation, the nuggets of truth herein will enable all with EARS TO HEAR, hear what the Spirit of God spoke through Paul.

Oh Lord help me to recognize any pride in me. Am I so puffed up about my accomplishments that people avoid being around me?  Forgive me for my boasting, my complaining, my whining. God reminds us and refreshes us in His Word “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. All who have this hope in Him purify themselves, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3 NIV In all the Psalms, it is noted that the word repent is not found. David recorded his personal anguish for having failed His Redeemer, His Lord, God Almighty. David was humbled by his awareness and admission of his errors, and his grievous sins.photo_2022-02-08_06-19-27

Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” God did not say that faith comes from reading the Bible. When we read the Word we cannot hear what the black marks on the white pages are saying. “Faith cometh by hearing” When we get into a submissive hearing state or attitude, we surrender our opinions, our knowledge with an open heart to hear what the Spirit is saying. The Holy Spirit requires us to yield to Him that we may hear what the Spirit of God is saying. He is the cause of Revelation. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor, our Teacher and only He can impart life to the Word which makes it a living, and personally applicable Word. The Holy Spirit works in us to impart wisdom that we may discern and walk wisely “in Him” Oh Lord, give me the gift of a listening heart that I may keep in step with Thee. AMEN

Today if we walk in the counsel of our favorite news station we are inclining our ears to the evil hearts of men who are dominated by the prince of the air. God’s chosen people did NOT humbly bow down to hear the Word of God and consequently they did NOT receive His blessing. Hear this with your HEART open.

We are NOT following a movement, or a doctrine. We are listening for the Voice of God which will NOT lead us into false manmade ideas or beliefs.  “He who has ears to hear, let him hear! Matthew 11:15  We are moved to allow God alone to enter into the secret place of our heart. The heart of a  believer is the place where they place what they treasure. We store our most valued things within the untouchable, invisible compartment of our heart. We are wise to let go of our way of thinking, to adopt the Truth of Who God says He is.  Believers trust the Lord to never harm, but to inform us. We treasure His faithfulness so it is safe for us to open our hearts to hear what the Spirit is saying.  Within a personal, intimate relationship with the Lord we must let go of what we learned in school so that the Holy Spirit can correct the beliefs we have always held.  The Holy Spirit is all knowing and we must yield to His wisdom and teaching.  Believers follow Jesus because they know His voice and they cannot be deceived.eb4bcc83159e43831b76069bfdaa0e7c--heart-pictures

The heart is where we store what we treasure.  “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt 6:21 – Science reports that just like a fingerprint, a voice cannot be duplicated.  Imagine your heart as a safe that only unlocks to the sound of the voice of God. Jesus tells us that His sheep will not follow a stranger because they recognize His voice. We treasure the promises of God and He knows the contents of our heart. Our Lord chose David, not because of his appearance, but because of his humble heart. David was willing to be open, corrected and to learn.  In order to be changed by God, we must be willing to believe He is who He says He is.  A life changes, a heart transforms, a will surrenders, a mind is renewed, as standards and values become higher as a heart listens to what the Spirit of God is saying.  We must be humble enough to admit we were wrong, and that the Spirit of God is the absolute authority above all human teachers. God’s voice is always present, it never speaks from the past or the future. Now is the day of the Lord, now is the time to listen for His voice. God’s voice is about our NOW time experience.   “I am” — is NOT I was. I am the true God.  He is the I am that always was, always is, and always will be God. The full council of God. Psalm 119:89  “O Lord thy word is settled in heaven”  Another translation says “Your word Oh Lord is eternal it stands firm in the heavens.” cover_image.jpg.640x360_q85_cropGod’s mind, His Logos, His total counsel never changes, it is eternally firm from beginning to end. This full counsel of God is summed up in a Person. In the book of John 1:1-2  “In the beginning was the word (Logos) and the Word was with God and the Word was God, he was with God in the beginning.” So Jesus is also the personified Logos, He is the total counsel,  purpose and mind of God. Jesus said “He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father.” Jesus represent all the Father is and everything the Father does, and all that the Father wills, and all the plans, as He fulfilled the Father’s purpose.  We are warned by the Old Testament to listen and obey God’s voice and receive blessings, or curses. Pray that you are in the right place at the right time.  Listen for the Holy Spirit to prompt you to walk this way.  In Mark 4:9  Jesus said “he who has ears to hear, let him hear.”  173234Jesus was not referring to physical ears, but about the willing, submissive, open, submissive condition of our safe, where we keep our treasures, our heart. Hard, calloused, stubborn, rebellious hearts do not hear from God  Second Timothy 3:16 “all Scripture is God breathed.”  Jesus  knows our hearts, minds, motives. The best news of the GOOD NEWS is that God the Father does NOT demand or command that any person  “believe” in a doctrine, but only that we have FAITH in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and that we listen, hear and obey His voice.  Even though Mary and Joseph did not understand what Jesus was saying, Mary treasured ALL of what He said in her heart. Mary had been searching for Jesus, and when she found Him, she treasured His words even without full understanding. Ask what is the lesson, or my application? 235ffe2a2303fd46

Do I agree with Scripture or do I resist the Truth?  “The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?” Ex  4:11 Who turned their hardened hearts over to a reprobate mind? “Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.” Romans 1:28   Speak for I am Listening

‘Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21

  5. A Valentine True Story. On June 19, 1985 during a local revival, feeling invisible in a crowd of a thousand, my body stood at attention. The preacher was on fire and without being conscious of what he was saying, I raised up quite involuntarily and started speaking in a foreign language. Jesus had deposited the Holy Spirit in me. Suddenly my secret to be wanted became realized as His hand touched me with His unmistakable Seal. Filled with new life “in Christ” the church elders led me to a swimming pool in which I was immersed, and legally baptized in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. I was given my first Holy Bible and His Word lit up my soul. ❤️ Love Himself took up residence in me and the living Word of God remains my refuge. Exposed to the glory, grace and Power of God, the girl who had felt the sting of rejection became His chosen. The Truth of who I am in Christ needed constant care and watering because the Liar convinced that girl to question any kindness. That girl’s soul was barren of compassion, mercy and Truth. Persistent as Truth is, He grounded me with a solid Word. The holy Scriptures began to pinpoint lies lodged deep within me. God’s love letter said I was wanted, adopted and filled with the imperishable! Not by chance, but by His design, the Living Water flooded my being until all the dirty lies washed overboard! My thirst was great and the Truth bathed my parched soul. An amazing comprehension of the breadth, length, height and depth of Truth grew within me. A supernatural transformation began as I embraced a portion of God’s immense capacity to love a broken kid of the King. I understood that I was not only that girl, but that now and forever, I was His girl! “For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith – and it is NOT from ourselves” Eph 2:8 — AWE struck, I came to KNOW that I could not earn grace, but that it was a FREE GIFT from my Father! “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” Eph 4:7 What did Jesus do with the woman who was caught in adultery? “Ye without sin, cast the first stone” and all the critics, dropped their stones and walked away. Jesus gently lifted her up and told her that He is not her accuser, but her Advocate. “Go and do your best, and by My grace, do not sin again.”
