Meet Karen Jo Ann David, a courageous woman, from Spokane, Washington – who founded a safe place for sexually abused girls. With God’s grace, a vision and meticulous plan, her mission statement is a reality. Treasure House serves up to 15 girls between the ages of 2 and 15. Innocents who have suffered horrific events, are removed and placed in State Certified Safe Housing. Unfortunately, in Mexico, there is little emphasis on healing the victims. Treasure House provides counseling and private Christian education.

The Holy Spirit moved in the heart of Karen to open a safe house. Our Father has supplied resources and His strength for Karen to keep going as trials emerge. God invites us all to participate in His grand plan. If we say no, God will find someone else. Karen said yes Lord, here I am, use me.

The Lord gave Karen a clear vision of a safe house. She knew that God is faithful. Karen is focused on God’s plan and purpose for the welfare of each child she receives from the State of Jalisco. It took 4 years to get all the legal paperwork completed for Treasure House to open. She learned the language and was thrilled to open her heart to the girls that God delivered into her care. She and her husband had planted 3 churches in Michicoan, Mexico, and together, they witnessed hundreds asking for and receiving salvation, healing, and provision. Karen was given a vision that led to an adventure that has been laced with tears, many challenges, and living reasons to keep on going. Nothing stops Karen’s hope to heal broken souls. A Safe House provides love, 3 meals daily, school books, medical, dental, clothing, and hands-on counseling. Funds are needed to support the future of rescued girls.

Multi faceted intervention is delivered by a quality team approach. The older slowly emerged from their shells to take roles of helping with the younger girls. Such Safe Housing is the only option the Mexican government has to rehabilitate a generation of kids tossed out. Treasure House Link. https://www.treasurehousemx.com/

Karen David has a servants heart and her mission to serve others never wavered even during extreme trials. Karen got married in 1980 and gave birth to 3 kids. The David family moved to Monterey, Mexico, in 1999. They served God for almost 3 years in the “Faith, Hope, Love” ministry. In the Monterey language school, the couple met Andy and Karyn Pricer from Texas.

In 2002, Mr and Mrs David moved to Michicoan, Mexico. Together, they planted 3 churches, opened a Drug Rehab, and trained up pastors and leaders to serve the needs of the community. The couple then moved to Guadalaraja to minister through a Bible School with Andy and Karyn Pricer. In conversations with local pastors and their wives, Karen learned of the immensity of the human trafficking business. In November 2017, Karen and her husband opened the doors to “Treasure House”. By Christmas of 2017, Social Services placed 6 girls in their care. Praise God!

However, after 37 years of marriage, by January 2018, Terry walked away from God and his family to fulfill his ungodly desires. The couple entered counseling, but Terry’s heart did not change. Karen immediately became the President, the Secretary and house mom. Karen’s main focus is on the home she purchased in 2022 in the city of Ixtlahuacán, Jalisco. A one acre property with deed complications.

Treasure House needs funds to complete construction to finish the kitchen, and an architect to draw a dormitory for 20 people. Once new living quarters are finished, the current living quarters which are declared unsafe – needs to be torn down. A grand open room for a library, with a wide space for learning and activities. Karen has hit roadblocks while trying to open a business bank account in the name of Treasure House so she can receive funds. A Safe House registered with DIF. All legal documents.

Karen is a registered missionary through Fire International. Donations are currently received through their website under “Projects – Treasure House”

We don’t always understand why. We don’t have all knowing. While on earth we see and go through hard things, but never alone. Our all knowing heavenly Father only allows as much as we can handle — so that we value His promise of eternity. God raises us up in His perfect Way. Philippians 2:3–4 “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also the interests of others” 🌺 “You raise me up.” When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary, when troubles come and my heart burdened be – then, I am still and wait here in the silence, until You come and sit awhile with me. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains. You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas. I am strong, when I am on Your shoulders. You raise me up to more than I can be.

May God bless Karen!
