What causes laughter is different for everybody. One might giggle or burst out in a belly laugh at the sight of a ridiculous meme, but there is no guarantee that everyone will find it amusing. What induces tears of joy and laughter could be a sound, a memory or a physical sensation. According to God laughter is good medicine! “Ladies, don’t hold your laugh in, if you do, just know that pent up laughter causes cellulite!” Ted Cunningham – Resting in the Joy of the Lord, gives us all peace as we trust His plan for us. His plan is to prosper those who trust His Word. Rest and be happy in your salvation, be assured that God loves you. “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.” Psalm 138:8.

We indeed build our immunity with laughter! To rest in Him is to rely on God, to trust in our truth telling Creator! “The Lord longs to be gracious to you” Isaiah 30:18 He consistently rises up to show us His joy in our faithful obedience as we wait on Him with full confidence. If we are to be imitators of Christ, then it is necessary for us to laugh at the days to come. The Message expands the words of Isaiah 30:15 “God, the Master, The Holy One of Israel, has this solemn counsel: “Your salvation requires you to turn back to Me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on Me” With foolish thoughts we demand our independence — while murmuring ‘We’ll ride off on fast horses!’ Our God laughs and responds “Do you think your enemy rides an old nag?” When we choose to laugh at ourselves, we get humble enough to pray “God forgive me!” Ask the Holy Spirit to flush out any anger, confusion, resistance or stress. Consider it all JOY…when tested by the Holy Spirit.
Our obedience to God’s counsel opens up doors. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find” Matthew 7:7 — there is humor in the mistake, the goof, the wrong decision. Seek and you will find a fabulous reason to laugh and move on! To pray without ceasing is to keep God’s Word swirling within as we go about our daily lives. As we watch the news, we can smile knowing that God will lead us through. The ongoing COSMIC CONFLICT remains the same. Truth vs Lies. If the voice in your head urges you to saddle up and run in fear, then you are listening to the wrong voice! What is Truth?

The upside to a frown is a WIDE smile! A sign of maturity is when we can laugh at ourselves when we say “I can’t believe I did that, or said that!” A critical spirit is suddenly replaced with God’s perspective as He encourages “We can laugh at the days to come”. More good news is that laughing reduces pain. The effect of laughter on 70 aged residents proved that that those who participated in humor therapy reported a decrease in pain. Those with previous aches reported they felt happier and less lonely too. “A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face.” “a cheerful heart fills the day with song.” and “A cheerful disposition is good for your health.” So declares the Message from God in Proverbs 15:13; 15:15; 17:22 and Paul writes “Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.” Romans 12:11-13 Need a Healing?

Have you ever longed to be forgiven for a blunder you blurted out? How did you feel when the person you offended said “I forgive you”? Did joy bubble up within? Did you smile as you were released from guilt? Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me because God anointed me. He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. God sent me to announce the year of His grace.” So our Creator gave us a commission to preach the good news which works to set the captives free! Allow the Spirit of God to deepen your faith in His … very real pleasure in you. It is important to listen to our Father’s voice and silence the voice of the Liar. The father of all lies tries to steal and destroy your faith in God. The Message to Joshua 1:9 “Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Do not get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going.” Ponder and meditate on God’s Word day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get safely to where God intends. “Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” We will experience trials, but God is ever with us! I pray that this true story will cause everyone who listens to intently …HEAR what the Spirit is saying.
Persistent prayer is required. The Message Luke 18 “Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit. He said, “There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people. A widow in that city kept after him: ‘My rights are being violated. Protect me!’ The judge never gave her the time of day, but after this went on and on he said to himself, ‘I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think. But because this widow won’t quit badgering me, I’d better do something and see that she gets justice—otherwise I’m going to end up beaten black-and-blue by her pounding.’” Then the Master said, “Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying? So what makes you think God won’t step in and work justice for His chosen people, who continue to cry out for help? Won’t He stick up for them? I assure you, He will. He will not drag His feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when He returns?” If we ever doubt if our Father is using us REMEMBER “For God does speak—now one way, now another—though man may not perceive it.” Job 33:14 What is your perspective on the benefit of God’s word? Is it biblical to laugh at the days to come? Our Father said “He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out.” His voice speaks of JOY in our salvation… and laughing at the days to come.

AMEN, the JOY of the Lord is my strength and I am confident He is pleased as I do my best to honor Him. Laughing at the days to come is easy when you are sealed, secured and wrapped in His righteousness. Thank You Jesus for the emotion of JOY as we keep our HOPE anchored in You. AMEN
