Lucky Day

What is the history behind the lucky four leaf clover? Uncovering the fact or fancy was like finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Scholars all agree that the belief of luck is full of make believe. March 17th is a mixture of history and folklore. The luck of finding a four leaf 🍀 clover, a shamrock or a leprechaun is like winning the lotto, a one in a million chance. Ireland loves to spin yarns about a guy named Patrick, a good tale to tell over a mug. The clover has been a symbol of Ireland since the 16th century. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, but March 17th is the day Patrick died.

Patrick was born around 386 AD to wealthy parents. Patrick’s birthplace is in fact debatable, with many believing that he was born in the still Welsh-speaking Northern Kingdom of Strathclyde at Bannavem Taberniae. Others consider his birthplace to be in the south of Wales. Patrick’s given birth name was Maewyn Succat. Say what?

Not much is known about his early life, but it is believed he was captured and sold into slavery with “many thousands of people” by a group of Irish marauders that raided his family estate. Maewyn or as we know today, Patrick was a slave for six long years.  As a slave he lived and worked an isolated existence as a shepherd. He finally managed to escape his captors, and according to his writings, a voice spoke to him in a dream, telling him it was time to leave Ireland. To this end, it is said that Patrick walked nearly 200 miles from where he was held, to the Irish coast. Something yummy to chew on St Pats Mint

Every day is a fine day to celebrate being held in God’s mighty hand. REJOICE always and be glad 😊 to know the One who chose to call you His own. The Rescuer of all mankind said “Come to Me all who are burdened and I will give you rest” We can rest in His presence because He is always there. We are His chosen ambassadors to every nation. Jesus is our Waymaker, He is our sure foundation, and we celebrate Him because He is worthy. Amen ❤️

Count your blessings, not a clovers leaf! Every leader or every nation’s knee will bow, every religious person will also take a knee and know that Jesus Christ is Lord of all. “When we pass through the waters, God promises that He will be with us. The rivers will not overwhelm us. When we walk through the fire, we shall not be burned, the flames shall not consume us. Our King says “Fear not, for I am with you.” Isaiah 43:2 ❤️ “The God we serve can rescue us but if He does not – we will burn gladly for His glory, but we will never bow down to the ruler of this world. Shad, Meshack and Abedengo were joined in the fire and came out not even smelling of smoke.” Daniel 3 ❤️ We serve a holy God and He is worthy to be feared, obeyed and worshipped.
