We ask God to tell us the Truth, to guide us, to give us wisdom and He responds with words that make us squirm to test our faith. Read Jeremiah 42 and 2 Peter 2 and perhaps get very uncomfortable with today’s sexually charged culture. The “Days of Lot” is a reference to the account of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were destroyed due to their wickedness and immorality as recorded in Genesis 19. The moral decay and societal behavior in 2026 should be offensive to the righteous. Jesus refers to the “Days of Lot” in the context of His Second Coming, as noted in Luke 17:28-30 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.” The people of Lot’s time were preoccupied with fitting in to keep the peace. It will be the same before the coming of Christ. Our Father’s will is that we speak the truth and be a willing outcast on earth, so we can fill the courts of heaven and empty the caves of hell. Jesus speaking to believers. Matthew 11:23 “And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.”

The remnant of God’s people asked Jeremiah to hear their petition and pray to the Lord God for the entire shrinking people of faith. They were once many, now only a few are left. Their request was a petition to the Lord God to TELL them where they should go and what they SHOULD DO. “May the Lord be a true and faithful witness AGAINST US IF WE do NOT ACT in accordance with everything the Lord your God sends you to tell us. Whether it is favorable or UNFAVORABLE, we WILL OBEY the LORD our GOD, so that it will go well with us, (selfish intent) for we will obey the Lord our God. JUST TEN DAYS LATER Jeremiah relayed God’s answer. This is what the Lord said. If you stay in this land, God will build you up and not tear you down. If God’s remnant rebel and choose not to obey and depart, they will surely suffer. God told them, but they did NOT OBEY. They died by the sword, famine and plague in the place where they went to settle. Disobedience meets suffering. The Lord is saying: “My truth is not given to condemn you, but to awaken you.” Just as in Jeremiah 42, the people asked for God’s voice but struggled to obey when it came! This is the hour where God is separating those who seek His voice from those who will actually walk in it. AMEN

The narrow gate that leads to eternal life with Jesus is often interpreted as the difficult and less popular path of moral and spiritual integrity that leads to eternal life. Jesus teaches that the way to destruction is broad and easy, while the path to eternal life with God is narrow. This imagery serves to illustrate the contrast between the choices that lead to a Holy Spirit dependent relationship with Jesus, where we daily ask, listen, and obey. Be found faithful and enter the narrow gate to eternal life. The narrow gate symbolizes the commitment and sacrifices that are required to follow Jesus and live according to His Word. A life “in Christ” is a submitted life which opposes the societal norms. In essence, entering through the narrow gate implies a deliberate choice to pursue a life of faith, obedience, and righteousness, despite the culture we live in. As a citizen of heaven we are uncomfortable by foul language, obscene ads that seduce youth into a life that seeks to please the flesh, not God. The wide road is broad, it is a freeway into hell. Matthew 7:13 relays God’s warning of the “broad road” a way of living that is easy, popular, and in alignment with societal norms, but ultimately leads to destruction. Many people choose the broad road because they do not want to offend the current culture. But one’s spiritual death is a permanent separation from God. The broad road is a lifestyle that embraces sin, complacency, and a lack of moral or spiritual discipline. Selfish choices and behaviors that seem appealing, but do not align with God’s will or the teachings of Jesus, are crowd pleasing choices, not God honoring choices. Jesus calls His followers to enter through the narrow gate, which requires sacrifice, and a conscious decision to pursue righteousness.

The prophetic timeline of God is visible globally. Matthew 24:15-33 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ (Antichrist) spoken of through the prophet Daniel, let the reader understand.” GREAT SORROW! “Let those who are left behind flee to the mountains. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in THOSE DAYS for mothers! For then there will be GREAT DISTRESS, UNEQUALED from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the ELECT those days will be SHORTENED. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time. For as lightning that comes from the EAST is visible even in the WEST, so will be the COMING of the SON of MAN. ALL the PEOPLES of the earth will MOURN when they SEE the SON of MAN coming on the CLOUDS of heaven, with POWER and great GLORY. HE will send HIS angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather HIS ELECT from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Even so, when you SEE all these things, you KNOW that it is NEAR, RIGHT at the DOOR. “

In Matthew 11:23, Jesus is the speaker. He is addressing the towns of Chorazin and Capernaum, cities where he performed many miracles and teachings but faced a lack of faith among the believers. The audience includes the people of those towns, as well as His disciples and any onlookers or followers who were present at the time. Jesus’s statement serves as a warning and a condemnation of our unresponsiveness to His messages and miracles. The notorious sexual sins of Sodom were as perverse as today. We are held accountable to vessels of purity and light.
