There is great JOY to be experienced every day. Fasting is a FUN thing to do to interrupt the monotony! We all need a break. There are countless video’s and diet guru’s that outline the benefits so this post is just to accentuate the positive! Fasting allows us to NOT think about what’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Therefore, while we fast, we get to drop our aprons, stop doing dishes and quit counting calories, carbs or fats. We get to let our bodies to rest from all the processing, digesting, chewing, assimilating, filtering and eliminating. It is actually FUN to FAST on PURPOSE! Begin fully equipped for a 72 hour fast. A sliding picture show of all the FREEDOM things you get to reunite with. Get your garden gloves on and pull weeds, plant flowers, water the yard. Use color, paint or use pencils to color a new page in your journal. Write a song to Jesus, make a list of all the times God has forgiven you, blessed you, and thank Him for the equipping. Take a walk with your camera ready to take pictures of colors, trees, flowers, birds, places and beauty that you have never taken the time to admire fully. Go to a good movie or plug into THE CHOSEN and binge watch it. Return home, look at all your pictures and thank God for what He made possible while you were fasting. BOTTOM LINE BLESSING: “My future is more important than my offenses, than my hurt feelings.” Wash your face, smile and wear bright colors so that you do not look like you are making a huge sacrifice to others. “Do NOT appear to be fasting…and your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret, will reward you openly.” Mark 6:18 — YES, WOW! Our Father sees us when we deny our flesh for His sake. “Do NOT do your charitable deeds before men to be seen by them, otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.” We are warned NOT to sound a trumpet, or make the big announcement that we are going to FAST and PRAY to draw closer to God. We are told to go to our room and pray to our Father who is in the secret place. VLAD encourages us to FAST with PURPOSE and ENJOY the JOURNEY.
