The Hebrew word for know in the Old Testament is YADA — and it never simply means intellectual awareness. It carries the idea of an intimate, private, experiential, deeply personal KNOWLEDGE. The same word is used when Scripture says God knew you before you were born. KNOW is used for the closest and most sacred human relationships. When the Bible invites us to KNOW God — YADA is the knowing GOD has in mind. Not information about Him collected from a distance — but a living, growing, face to face familiarity with who He actually is. Being a Christian is more than a name. It is a YADA — a KNOWING. It is exploring God’s living Word.
understanding His nature, and letting His character shape our lives from the inside out. To explore what it truly means to know God, we begin with the opening verses of the Gospel of John. When John chose the word LOGOS — translated as WORD — he was doing something extraordinarily deliberate. The WORD of GOD was the very POWER by which creation came into being — the same Word that spoke light into darkness in Genesis.

This is what the Lord says:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to KNOW ME, (YADA), that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23

Great is His faithfulness, His love and mercies endure without end. His mercy and grace clears the way, and a new pathway in our brains lights up as we follow the Voice that says “This is the way, walk in it” We choose to THINK and be grateful for the freedom to choose Christ and His way, every day. “Oh Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever!” Psalm 106:1 Praise God for His faithful promises. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom.

Philippians 3:3 “For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by His Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—” The saving power is in the Lamb’s Mercy and His Blood. Do you long to be released from sin? There is healing in His grace, the mighty, all transforming grace of God. Do you seek the strength to conquer all? There is power in the name of Jesus. There is power, power, endless saving power, in the fresh daily mercies of the Lamb. Do you want to leave your fear, then cry out. He responds to all who call on His name. Gain freedom through His grace today. He fills hungry hearts with His mercy. There is freedom in our Savior’s eternal love.

The unchanging love of Jesus provides what is truly everlasting. All the things we dreamed of or wanted, we imagined with a fleeting hope that on our own we could make it happen. But Jesus met us in the midst of desperation. He did not give us all that our hard hearts wanted. He gave us what is everlasting — and best. Even when we don’t understand, His love remains the same. The grace He has given us, is more miraculous than we ever could have hoped for. The truth is that the promised Holy Spirit is always with us, forever by our side. When the popular direction of the world breaks down, and everything begins to shake, Jesus does not rush to change the moment. He persists in His patience towards us with a steady pursuit. He never gives up on us. Our Father provided the Way, the innocent blood of Jesus to cover all our sins. In our stubborn pride, in our limited understanding, we would have never asked for a blood sacrifice to secure our eternal destination. Our Father knew our need for a Savior.
