When we change our diet and start eating healthy, the benefits will outweigh the gas, but what causes it? Why the bloat? Our body needs extra cellulase to digest veggies before the greens overly ferment and get your gut drunk on bacteria. OTHER BLOAT CAUSES:

1) OMAD One meal a day peeps perhaps eat too much, too fast in an hour – sucking in air as we cram food causes bloat.

2) RAW fruits and veggies without a cleanse causes food to ferment in the gut and swell with a lot of hydrogen to digest your food. Multiple new GUT bacterias are chomping down on all that nice food you’ve given it.

3) FODMAP fermentable oligosaccharides disaccharides monosaccharides and polyols.

4) CRUCIFEROUS veggies: cauliflower, broccoli etc. Best to add heat. Boil or bake em to limit gas. Add back Raw crucifers after a month or so until gut heals.

5) FIBER rich diets = 15 grams a day as a vegan. IF peeps who follow Dr Greger daily dozen ingest 100 grams per day. Slow down, and allow your body to adjust, to cleanse itself with this new VEGAN lifestyle.

There are a lot of voices out there. Dr Greger, Chef AJ, r McDougal, Joe Tatta. “Heal your pain now” by Joe Tatta … explained that gluten, dairy, GMO ,egg, and soy disturbs gut health while creating inflammation. If you are bloated, you are inflated like a balloon. We then experience digestive system issues, chronic pain, autoimmune diseases. SEE COMMENTS ON SOY SCIENCE. Remove soy beans, soy milk, eggs, cheese, dairy for 3 months to heal your gut. EAT FRUIT ALONE do not mix with protein. EAT a WIDE VARIETY OF FRUIT for first meal. Some cleanse gut with all FRUIT for a day as they sip on 2 quarts of filtered water with 3 lemons juiced with 1/4 cup dark maple syrup. Fruit and nuts guarantees gas. Vary diet daily, reintroduce then one at a time and see how your body reacts Home remedy? Google it, suffer, or get a brand of digestive enzyme that have good reviews. I do NOT earn a thing for suggesting these brands – this is from scouring the web and reading all he comments of BLOAT sufferers.

Another DOCTOR OPINION ON SOY. Science tells us:

BASICS: Soy contains isoflavones, a type of phytoestrogen that is 1000 times weaker than human estrogen & does not behave exactly like human estrogens in our bodies. Isoflavones block some of estrogen’s effects & mimic others, generally resulting in health benefits; they also have antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties. Soy has the highest protein & fat content of any legume & is high in iron & fiber.

WOMEN’S HEALTH: Soy has been shown to prevent breast cancer in the amounts consumed in Asia. A 2008 review showed that women averaging 1cup of soymilk/ 1/2cup of tofu per day had a 30% lower risk of developing breast cancer vs women who avoid soy. Soy has also been shown in many studies to reduce the risk of recurrence in breast cancer survivors. A recent study showed that breast cancer survivors who consumed the most soy had a 21% lower risk of dying of any cause over the 9-yr study, compared with low-soy consumers. Soy reduces the risk of endometrial cancer & can reduce menopausal hot flashes.

MEN’S HEALTH: A large 2010 systematic review showed that soy does not affect testosterone levels, sperm concentration, or sperm quality. Soy may lower the risk of prostate cancer by up to 50%. THYROID: Soy does not affect the thyroid in people with normal thyroid function and iodine levels. Whether or not you eat soy, you should meet your daily iodine needs (150mcg/day). If you take thyroid hormone, you may need the dose adjusted if you change your soy intake.

CARDIOVASCULAR RISK: Soy lowers blood pressure & LDL cholesterol.

REALITY CHECK: Some worry about estrogen & GMOs/pesticides from soy, but most dietary estrogen comes from dairy & meat products. Unlike soy phytoestrogens, animal estrogens DO mimic human estrogen in our bodies. Similarly, most GMO soy is used to feed chicken, pigs, & cattle, which are then consumed by people. Much of the soy grown for human consumption is non-GMO.
