This foodie is NOT claiming to be a culinary legend, but for all the frustrated Carnivores who are seeking how to flavor up their meat without a big fuss, this just might become a keeper. Remember the movie “Julie & Julia” where the fledgling writer Julie Powell chose to inspire her generation by whipping up 524 Julia Childs recipes in 365 days. Ahhh, the magic of cooking with butter! This Crock of Carne has a distinct smoke flavoring! Getting enough fat on my one meal a day requires creativity. This Crock O’ Beef is easy to throw together in the morning. My activity in the morning is to plan on ‘What’s the Beef?‘ of the day. I brewed up a pot of Carnivore and Cinnamon? then pulled out a package of frozen beef cubes. Place beef under hot water, broke it apart, then drown beef in a deep dish pan full of bacon fat. Season while browning in the skillet:
- To your taste: Tony Chachere’s Cajun salt, sprinkles of cumin, 2 tablespoons of “Better than Bouillon” paste and a splash of instant Smoke flavor, Braggs.
- Empty a box of Beef or Chicken broth into the Crock Pot and add one cup of water. Add a half stick of butter. 1 tablespoon of MCT oil, a wee bit of onion ( or not).
- After beef is browned, add to the crock and keep it on high for an hour. My One Meal A Day (OMAD) a Crock of Beef stew — brewed and full of flavor! Serve it with a lemon/lime/orange peel atop for garnish.
