Have you ever felt like a failure as a Christian? Me too – but then there is God. There are difficult days when we really want answers or a breakthrough. Sometimes we groan in our spirit and wonder if God even hears our prayers. We get impatient waiting on God and we are tempted to take situations into our own hands as we lean, unwisely, on our own understanding. Be encouraged to cling to the VINE. Our Father has always intended, purposed and clearly stated that we cannot do anything successfully without remaining close, attached, listening, waiting and trusting Him in all things. “The life that I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God.” With absolute FAITH in God, surrender all, and draw close to He who abides inside! Cling to His faithfulness to prosper you in your spirit, mind and body. The freedom we have in Christ is that we can trust God. All our feeble attempts to impress Him with how much we read the Bible, quote scriptures, perform or pray —do NOT cause Him to love us more than He already does! Do NOT go to the grave hoping you are saved as you condemn yourself for NOT being worthy of God’s love. Be confident that His all consuming love was enough to cover your sins, doubts and fears. Know that He who resides in you —will do His mighty work in you and through you. “I will never leave you or forsake you” is the truth. God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to live, die, and rise from the grave to give you the freedom to live ‘in Him’. Choose to trust HIM in all things. But how? Read on.
In order to live an abundant life of victory and joy it is essential to trust God over our feelings. Do not allow all the advice or the collected opinions of this world to distract you from the Father’s plans for you. We all face trials, pain, hardship and persecution just as Jesus did. Our Lord cried out on the cross “Why are You so far from helping Me?” Generations trusted their unseen Father and they were not ashamed when despised by people for their faith in an invisible God. A hurting Jesus groaned “My heart is like wax melted within Me…My strength has dried up” As His feet and hands were pierced, in agony He pleaded to His Father to be delivered from death. “When He cried out to Him, He heard”. Psalm 22 prophetically pronounced “Those who seek Him will praise the Lord, let your heart live forever.” It is important to note that our heart, soul, spirit will live forever —as the tent, this temporary body in which the Holy Spirit indwells — will decay and wear out. We are to be like Jesus and trust the Father during the test, the pain, the suffering, the persecution. By His example we are to praise God and NOT be ashamed to CRY OUT to be delivered. In all situations, through all the tests —we are to approve and agree with His ways and perfect timing. Our Father said “Do not forget My teaching – Let your heart keep God’s commands – His words will add peace to your life – Fear not, be courageous – Write God’s word on your heart and find favor – Do NOT lean on your own understanding or feelings – Acknowledge God before people – Do NOT be wise in your own eyes – Resist the pride that God hates – Fear the Lord and turn from evil – Do NOT reject the discipline of the Lord.” The wisdom of Proverbs 3 is worthy to keep. In order to obey God, we must first listen to what the Holy Spirit is revealing as we read His word. If we are humble before God, we ask the Holy Spirit to teach us. In this way we are assured that we will not be leaning on what the commentary says, or on our own understanding. God will deliver a personalized application to us. The Holy Spirit will give us His understanding, His wisdom if we will just listen. The opinions of man, the doctors advice, the science, all the worldviews, and the mounting volume of voices on the internet —bombard us with the evil intent to disconnect our faith in God. Know that people will tell us what they think is best for us. The truth is, people do not consider what purpose Almighty God has for us during a test of suffering. Consider Job, his friends, his wife?
God is absolutely faithful. Our Father is obligated to keep His promises. Our absolute, resolute faith is required in order to patiently wait on God. Our impatience can cause us to doubt His trustworthiness. If we are honest, we sometimes run ahead of God hoping He will bless our choices. Our Father asks our spirit, He challenges us with a small voice “Are you going to trust what you see and hear in this world, or are you going to trust Me and My greater good?” What a glorious Father we have! His love, wisdom and grace never runs out. While we fidget in our waiting on His perfect timing — He is working all things out. Isaiah 64:4 “Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on our behalf of those who wait on Him.” STOP and digest that. Trusting God at His word, we patiently wait on Him with confidence that He will act on our behalf. This is why Christians are compelled within to give generously to the Lord’s work. Our God is always at work, in us, and through us. He is all knowing, omniscient and He knows our level of trust in Him by how we wait on Him and how we give. If we remain attached to all we collect from His lavish giving, if we choose to bury, hide, or hold on tight to what He gives, we are clenching to our own understanding of our needs – and not trusting God and His faithfulness to supply for all our needs. Our physical, spiritual and financial needs will ALL be supplied according to our faith in Him. Are you hurting? Need a Healing?
Jesus Christ came to live on the inside of us. The promised Holy Spirit was delivered when we chose to believe in Jesus and claim Him as Lord. Many struggle to do their very best, efforting greatly —on their own to refrain from listening to the world, eating too much, or in anyway being selfish, prideful, or perhaps slip into a behavior that does not please God. Christians continue to fail, try as they might to always do what is right. Believers can become miserable and begin to doubt their salvation because they continuously fall short. We try and fail, we cry and wail, we pray and fast – then we repeat by trying harder in our flesh until we crash. We vowed repeatedly to get better, to NEVER do that again, then we did it again! Exasperated we think “the Christian life of trusting an invisible, silent God is too hard!” Once again we go forward in church to recommit, we ask for prayers because we are wretchedly unable to live in victory! Folks, the good news is – it is impossible in and of ourselves to always be good and do good! Cry out, ask for increased faith Reach Out
John 15:4 “Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it MUST remain in the Vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. IF you remain in Me, and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” – Sit back and breathe that truth in. Allow the Holy Spirit to clarify in your spirit that the Christian life was never intended to be lived based on our own strength, will power and effort. Drink in this truth. Let it saturate your spirit. This truth will indeed set you free from striving to please God. Be ye liberated by the entire theology contained in John 15:4 “Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise You.” Psalm 63:3-5 The phrase “Christ in me” is listed 45 times in the New Testament. The best obedience is to surrender all to He who abides within. Listen and be encouraged about God’s absolutely perfect unconditional love for you, right NOW, as you are!
“This is the day the Lord has made and I choose to rejoice in it” It is thrilling to see how the Holy Spirit will use our struggles to deepen our walk with Him. It is a privilege to partner with our Sovereign God in His work. Today is a new beginning. Expect joy, tests, challenges and victory through Him. To continue to find joy in our journey, we surrender and pick up our cross asking “God how do You want Me to use my time today, what is Your plan?” We are purified through tests. Our Lord promised there would be suffering. All who suffer are in good company. ❤️ John 20:20 Jesus “showed them His hands and side… “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” ❤️ With that He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” God deposited the Holy Spirit in us. All the days of our life were written in His book before our birth. His purpose is that we persevere and grow closer through suffering with joy. As Paul sang in chains, what happened? Listen, the Holy Spirit will guide. Obey.
2 Chron 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
